Sometimes I can’t build a fence foundation on top of another. It always makes it like a cross. It might work when I build first build the fence foundation and then the foundation behind it, but not always.

I have encountered this as well, along with having the fence foundation buildable halfway through the previous one facing the same direction as one another (as in next to one another, but they overlap in the middle), if it actually fortifies the foundation, fine, but I doubt that, I think this is just a bug in how building pieces snap.
