A new patch is here and this one brings a major upgrade under the hood. Today’s update introduces Unreal Engine 5.8.2, bringing the game onto the latest engine version and laying the groundwork for further improvements.
Unreal Engine has been updated to version 5.8.2, which helps to future proof Conan Exiles Enhanced. Most importantly, this engine upgrade enables the use of a new replication system called “Iris”. Iris improves a major performance bottleneck on dedicated servers: evaluating 100s of thousands of game objects per frame to update clients.
For the initial testing period of the Public Test Client (PTC), Iris will be disabled so that we can focus on client stability and performance from the 5.8 update.
We will update Public Test Client later to enable Iris.
Thralls can now sit on the Lion Throne, Jhebbal Throne, Serpentmen Throne, and Ice Throne when they need to sit or rest.
Adjusted Ghurnaki Saddle dye channels and increased the number of dye slots to 4.
Removed floating text inn one of the Dogs of the Desert Head Hunter event camps.
Fixed Head Hunter faction leader dialogue issue where choosing “Not Right Now” would not progress or close conversation.
Removed “I don’t know” option and switched it for “Not Right Now”. This option tells the faction captain that you will not join their faction and ends the conversation.
Fixed Lumen Surface Cache for more stable and clear Lumen reflections across the game.
Fixed a number of shadow flickering artifacts related to virtual shadow maps.
Fixed various floating foliage, node, and prop issues throughout the Exiled Lands and Isle of Siptah.
Fixed various collision issues throughout the Exiled Lands and Isle of Siptah.
Fixed a seam running through all of Isle of Siptah.
Fixed floating lava section in Well of Skelos.
Fixed some geometry holes in the Cyclopean Halls.
Fixed Z-fighting with a dead body near Volary of Jhil.
Fixed texture flickering from camp tents.
Fixed visible seam between landscape and large cliff rocks in Isle of Siptah.
Fixed issue where placeables would not appear underwater when in build mode.
Fixed cloth clipping issue on male version of Setite Mask.
Fixed clipping issue on Female Vendhyan Mystic Loincloth.
Fixed Aesir ceilings and foundations from z-fighting with each other.
Fixed clipping with the Giant King corner pillar with multiple sets.
Fix issue where some mods with custom animations were crashing on game load.
UE5.8 changed the way fog affects Lumen, so you may experience weird or very bright reflections in dungeons until the next update.
PSOs (Pipeline State Objects) for UE5.8 are not updated so you may experience longer loading times, and some framerate hitches as a result.
This patch includes a preview version of FSR upscaling that works with UE5.8, if you experience any issues with it please report it with F2 Feedback, and switch to TSR or XeSS.
We are currently testing it, but we cant use our Vendhyan or Giant kings building set in here? we were just about to start building some big castle, how can that be that it is unavailable on test? @Dana
Unfortunately, that sort of thing has been pretty standard for Public Beta - because the client is a ‘different’ version of the game (hence why it’s a separate game in our steam libraries). You’ll probably find that most (if not all) of your bazaar and DLC (and battlepass/twitch drops) stuff is unavailable.
If you’re on a private server, you can probably do the building back on the regular game and then transfer the database into the public beta client (at least, I often do that with singleplayer, transferring the save files back and forth), but I don’t know if you’re ever going to be able to straight up use the purchases in public beta.
@dana , our friend @Hyttemaier have a point in how can we test bazaar content for potential issues , if we can’t use it , it would make sense for a testing purpose to have all content available to test , so all dlc’s ect … it would help detect those nasty chest on fundations disapearance bug we had in the past 2 times with the nemedian fundation first and the stonebrick/khitan one … Especially if the test client is being used for small time duration like it has been recently ( since you can turn it off after test so that it won’t make people play only on test to have access to the dlcs/bazaar content) (furthermore it might make a tester “preview” a dlc/bazaar content , and make him want to buy it on the non test client later on )
Just want to say, it is not a different account. And you (or at least I) have access to DLC and Bazaar items. The issue is, I only have access to stuff I bought before the test servers went live. The stuff I bought after the test server went live I have no access to.
Looks like they, at some point, copy the stuff you have access to on the test servers and everything you buy afterwards isn’t available.
But I can chose from a whole bunch of DLC and Bazaar items to build and craft on the test server.
@Dana NA Test Servers not showing in the list. Tried using Continue and get a message that the versions are different. Did the NA Test Servers get updated?
I am not the only one on the NA Test server with this issue of not being able to access the bazaar items, therefore if this recent update did not fix it then it is a bug. EDIT: Quickly created a character of EU-PVP. Yamatai Tower and Argossean Observatory building sets still do not show in the list. Part of the Lost Dungeon set does appear, but not the Cistern pieces.
