For the past few weeks there seems to be an issue with base decay timers on PvP server’s (at least the one i am on).
I have been checking on some land claim put next to my base when i was raided roughly 2-3 weeks ago (it was first sandstone, then upgraded to Tier 3, to prevent me from being able to build my base properly). Now i wouldn’t normally be bothered, as it’s just part of the game. But, the decay timer keeps resetting to -, that’s it, just a ( - ). I have only ever seen a timer on it once. Every other time it just shows -.
The owners have not been on at all, plus all other bases i look at have this same - on the decay time. Wth is going on? Do i really have to farm and use 100’s of bombs just to get rid of a tiny bit of land claim when the owners don’t even play the server anymore? Just because the Decay Timers seem broken…
I was checking the server settings and saw this, does this not mean that buildings won’t decay? If so, i wonder why this would be activated on an official PvP Server…
I am absolutely getting fed up with this game and the developers inability to fix the issues that have been going on since the age of sorcery.
They turned a working game into a near unplayable experience. From invisible animals, npc’s and terrain, to base repairs resetting after server restarts, no decay timers, self deleting building peices. Its just ridiculous, and yet they bring out “age of war” before even bothering to fix the issues with the game.
How is it possible to have test live servers (you know, where people test that everything is working as intended) and then still release these updates with all these game breaking issues? What is the point in having test servers…
Test live server’s are only available for PC players and for those people who feel that their time is not wasted by reporting problems that is happening and in game and not fixed before release. @iMattyBoye
I understand that the test live servers are on PC only, and you’re telling me that the game is not tested on the consoles before release?
It also doesn’t excuse the issues that have been going on for several months.
They need to pull their finger out and actually fix the issues with the game, before they lose even more players. Bringing out new additions without fixing serious issues will not keep players in the game.
So slow, so so slow.
I put the game down for a while and yet the same issues still persist.
I do love Conon Exiles, and have roughly 3000 - 4000 hours of play time. But honestly the issues in game make me angry towards Funcom
They will do so as soon as Sony/Microsoft drop their verification requirements for updates. Otherwise by the time they get console test updated, it would already be pushed to live.
Funcom will do what Funcom wants
Sitting in their office discussing just what they can do to mess up the next download
I have played this game since conception and will still play. My hope is Funcom will right some of the wrongs to enable this game to be one of the GREATEST
You know, you could simply calculate the lead time required and plan your year out better. Just saying many many companies of all sizes seem to have no issues with consoles. As far as Sony and MD verification being dropped, yeah no thanks. Too many crashes get through even with it so I can’t imagine the amount of you removed the requirement. To remove the quality check, you gotta assure the quality going out.
This sounds like a ton of work for the 6 people that might even play on said server. On PC you can barely fill a server during tests. Console players are likely going to be even less.
I am even questioning the effectiveness of public beta. The sample sizes are too low to get anything fixed that isn’t already caught by a closed beta (if there is one at the time). Its good for finding grammatical errors and typos I guess.
You’re happy as a paying customer with the way they put out their game breaking updates, every single time? Where are your standards?
They can’t pull more or new people into the game, because they always end up with these bugs. They don’t get to see what a great game it actually is, because it just gets seen as a buggy game (which it is).
What’s more questionable is how the devs don’t take into consideration any of the feedback from the public testlive before releasing.
They make the public beta ineffective by disregarding it altogether, and it makes all the testers feel like it’s not worth, thus most stop even going to testlive.
It’s a self-fulfilling prophecy, if devs consider testlive useless and don’t take the feedback from it, they effectively make it useless and there is little to no feedback to take from.
→ Still, with the Age of War, a bunch of people all said the same thing about the stamina changes which was not just “oh I don’t like it”, but instead “it is completely broken, some weapons cannot do a full combo, and you can roll infinitely.”
↳ Funcom had all the time to hear this feedback, but they didn’t make a single change, they didn’t care at all for something that could have been easily tweaked because it is just server settings.
@Taemien it is baffling to me that you’re defending every single thing Funcom is doing.
There are things that are fine and things that aren’t, Funcom does more of the latter than the former.
Ok before we go down the road of white knight junk, I would like everyone to sit back and stop going after posters but argue your points and critique opposing points. While it’s human nature to take it to a personal level, ad hominem is a sure fire way to lower the discussion and get a thread removed
Time tables still need to be met. I don’t like that beta goes out with hardly anytime to deal with the feedback provided. If the game doesn’t crash, the feedback from beta is the task lists of hotfixes.
I can agree for things like the Clan Emblem Shield illusion not applying.
I cannot agree for something that requires changing 2 or 3 values in server settings ⇊
For stamina to not start regenerating before the rolling animation even ends, the two later values need to be increased. Literally make them 0.2 instead of 0.1 so you don’t mess all the changes up, test it, maybe make it 0.25 or 0.3 if needed, and you’re good to go. This doesn’t even require to recompile anything as it is just a setting, so it would take maximum 30mn if you’re slow and through with testing
Then of course, StaminaRegenerationTime should be increased a little bit again, but not for a quick hotfix since the stamina costs are linked directly to weapon entries in the Item Data Table.
So yeah, can understand not fixing the stamina cost and regen before beta goes out, but cannot understand not fixing free rolling.
→ And then, two hotfixes came, and none of this has been fixed yet
For the pvp roll poke stuff, the easiest answer that keeps everyone happy is you can’t spend stamina you don’t have. This means you can’t dodge until your stamina is sufficient for the roll. It keeps the stamina Regen rate the same and prevents huge abuses in pvp and rolling thrust. However, the backdrop of that simple change may not be so simple.
There’s nothing to defend here. I pointed out that making a test server on console would be a waste of time. If they decided to actually try it, I would still call it a waste of time. I would literally say they are wasting time and resources, that’s not defending.
This is a thread about PVP Decay Timers, not about my personal goals and agendas (to which you have no clue about because I have never put up a thread stating such).
