Returning player, getting "YOU DO NOT OWN THIS" message

Basic Info:

Platform: Steam
Issue Type: Other
Game Mode: Single Player
Server Type: PvE
Map: Exiled Lands
Server Name: =SERVER NAME=
Mods: =MODS=

Bug Description:

Logged in today after not having played since early 2019. Had to create my character again, saw the notice at the beginning about how things had to be reset, but I managed to find my bases. At first, I was able to open doors but then the game crashed (randomly, when I was looking at the keybinding menu) and when I re-entered, I had to rebuild my character again and when I went to my base, I could use everything inside but the doors and the bed both say "YOU DO NOT OWN THIS". I got inside because I had stairs going right in from a cliff, with no door. Also, the elevator works.

Bug Reproduction:

Logged out, logged back in a few times and still unable to open doors or use the bed. Managed to build a structure and save my progress. Going back to Keybinding menu did not cause a crash.

The only other info I have is at the menu page where it says at the bottom: crayzeeboy78#64379 Revision (#454469/36114) Backend Retail (1)

It belongs to your prior character; buildings are not owned by funcomid, its by character or clan. When you create a new character, all previously owned landclaim goes with the clan if one existed or goes to an abandoned state and will decay (if decay active).

Thing is, I didn’t have a choice to make a new character. All my saved stuff was gone. I’m using a different computer so I had to reinstall. Unless there’s a file I can copy over to help? Also, why would the buildings and skills still be the same?

You will need to copy the game.db file from the old computer to the new one.

It can be found in this location:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Conan Exiles\ConanSandbox\Saved

When you login to a server, your character follows your funcom id. So if you reinstall and login with the same steam account, it will have your funcom id that was used on that server in the past. Singleplayer would have its own save, but the server would remember you. If you were away for longer than the decay timer, your stuff would have decayed, but your character data should still be present. Once you recreate character though, all your previously owned property goes into abandoned state (there is a popup warning of this when you recreate character that you have to click yes/no to).

ah this is single player. yeah gotta move the db
