Thank you for proving you’re very selective about what you read.
If they’d just called it something else, like for example, “2019 Core DLC Season Pass”, then I’d have no issue.
I consider what they have done though as false advertising.
False advertising would mean they didn’t include a description of what was in the pass. They did, if you bought something without reading the description then the fault is on you
I keep seeing it ids greed on Funcoms part, but to those that didn’t read it and want another freebie, is that not greed on their part?
The name of the product is “Year 2 Season Pass” but it is not a season pass for year two.
Go figure.
I don’t think that people want freebies. They want to be given truthful information when making a purchase. £26.99 I paid for a Year 2 Season Pass. But I haven’t got a Year two Season pass, and it may have influenced my decision to purchase had it been made clear that there would be extra DLC that were not included in the Year 2 Season Pass.
If they called it Year 2 DLC pack, then the argument would be “it should include all DLC, and this was a DLC”. We all need to agree that some people read and some people assume. those that read, understand what they were getting, those that didn’t, well like i said i own some land in Florida, just sign in a couple of places and for 1000 bucks it is yours.
Sorry @WhatMightHaveBeen but you only put up “here doing”. I bought the riddle of steel dlc when i found out about it and had bought the year pass the day it came out, yet i have no complaints about it. The greddy part i am referring to is that some companies will release multiple dlcs yet they have every right to if the comply with the laws. If people don’t like it don’t buy them
I don’t think it is greed that drives Funcom, as that implies taking just to have more, but this is more on the business funding side of revenue. If one wants to call it greed, then, technically all companies are greedy for wanting to make money, just some just do it in a way that is unscrupulous. I don’t think that is Funcoms intention here. The DLC packs were pre-pay to allow them to have cash flow and invest in the game to “finish” the last stages. The Riddle of Steel is an anniversary DLC to celebrate while making a profit. The accusations flying around make it seem as though Funcom is doing everything they can to deceive people, when all they are doing is running a business.
I think we are on the same side of this, as the DLC was not listed, and there fore does not need to be included in the “Season 2” pass.
Yeah we are on the same side of the argument @WhatMightHaveBeen. Was just using the term greddy for the person that is complaining as trying to argue financials goes over peoples heads
But that’s the point… you were given the information what is/was included. The description clearly states 4 Core DLCs as well as their names.
If you do, for whatever reason, not receive those 4 core DLCs, you have a right to complain.
The key word in what they said would be in the pass was core dlc. If you read that then you would realize that there will be either no other dlc other then them 4 or that there will be other minor dlc besides them 4. With the pass it states that your paying for the 4 core dlc at a discount. If they had of said that you would have access to all the dlc and then changed it then many of us would crying out against it. We are not as many of us read what we are paying for to make sure we get our money’s worth
We clearly stated what was in the Year 2 Season Pass. You get 4 core DLCs for the price of 3.
The smaller dlc is a fan service for those of you who like the movie.
I explained further up why it wasn’t possible to include the movie and licensing content into the Season Pass. That is a truthful statement, sharing our info with you as people were wondering.
If you do not believe us then I wonder why you would want to be on our forums as it seems you have made up your mind about our communication and wouldn’t believe anything else we say. That sounds like a painful position to be in.
We do not lie to our community. If there is misconception or confusion with a specific topic it can stem from us not communicating clearly enough. That is something that we are totally willing to work on.
With that said, I do feel this thread has run its intention and won’t go anywhere. I will be locking it for that reason. I am sorry that some of you feel betrayed. That was definitely not our intention (see above and start of this post).
To those of you who enjoy the DLC, we’re glad and thanks for the support.
For those who didn’t buy the DLC(s). That is totally OK and your right
I hope everyone has a great weekend. Please be good to each other <3
