Sandstorm bug on official PVP, damage but no animations

There is a sandstorm bug on official PVP, you take damage but there is no animation like wind, etc …

IME, this usually occurs when a player connects to the server after the sandstorm has already begun. I know it happens to me with some frequency on the Official PvE I’m on, and it’s always been when I’ve recently joined the server.

This happens on the ps4 also, so it is not limited to the PC.

  1. Log in during sandstorm
  2. Notice if graphics show a storm
  3. no graphic storm showing, so walk outside of shelter
  4. notice the sandstorm event tag appear on the left border
  5. notice taking damage outside shelter still with no graphics for sandstorm

I see this too on PS4. The thing that’s really strange is how often I log in and there’s a sandstorm happening. They’re not that frequent, so how is it that I so frequently log in as one is happening just by chance?

This has been a known issue for some time, the infamous invisible sandstorm.

For PC there is a mod that fixes it: SandstormFix
