Had some extra cash so I figured what the hell. The horse is kind of cool looking. (Admit it. That’s why you’re asking. ) And the other stuff isn’t too bad either, IMO.
Its also worrying this thread moved the topic to Zendesk, which to me feels like they are offering a refund rather than there being something bugged in the skeletal steed…
I would definitely refund if I made the mistake of buying it… We assume a horse is a mount… Especially when its named “Steed”.
Well, it actually is a mount in that you can get on it and ride around. Haven’t tried having a follower plus the steed for myself just yet. Haven’t had any time to play today.
I seem to recall that horses used to function this way at first as well though, where you couldn’t have a follower and a horse at the same time. I also noticed when I was messing around with it yesterday that it seems to default to a more aggressive stance when following you compared to regular horses. Or at least it seemed to be getting in the way a lot more often. That can probably be adjusted in the behavior settings though.
But this is all starting to make me wonder what their intention with this guy was. Is he supposed to be more like a follower? If that’s the case, he needs some sort of attack or something. If he’s supposed to just be a horse reskin and nothing more, then he’s probably categorized wrong in the game files somehow.
Yeah horses used to be able to attack as well. When they allowed both thrall and horse, the horse stopped attacking. This sounds more and more they used the older function of the horse vs the current one.
Oh, now there’s a thought. Might have to try that when I get a chance. Theoretically should work with a regular horse/skeletal steed combo if it’s going to work at all.
You can add custom engravings to the tombstone, as you might be able to see in the picture. There’s a 40 character limit, but as you can see in the second image, the text gets pretty small with longer messages.
I’m confused how you could leverage this to gain advantage. You can get a second horse thrall that has 10 inventory items and hits like a wet noodle. Ummm…yea?
I don’t do much PvP but to me it sounds like your buying a fighter thrall disguised as a horse. You don’t need the effort of a wheel or tavern just pick up a foaling throw it in the stable add sorcery food and bam you got a fighter/ horse army at your base. Just feels a lot easier then knocking out a thrall to me. Yea probably not much of an advantage but I haven’t fully tested the fighter horses hp at max lvl and horses usually have a lot or how strong its fighting ability is.
