So what do you do?

Every post I see I have been compiling. It’s not every single one because sometimes I don’t spend as much time on here or they get locked/delisted pretty damn quick.

For a window there were anywhere from 3-4 per day alone.

That isn’t even the people that don’t post.

i took a break of almost 4 months due do both the hacker problem and the report abuse.
and was planning to return since is the end of the year.

so the hacker problem isn’t adressed still?.

and from what i have seen they now have an even better version of the hack thats impossible to counter. 4 days ago i was watching people in stream getting hacked xD

i have almost 5 k of hours between all my accounts and i only started seeing hackers a few months ago. i loved this game, but now is ruined, gone, reduced to atoms.

i am so mad at funcom for letting the best game of all time (to me) is completely ruined.
ty for the good moments tho.
Best of luck to anyone who is still willing to suffer dealing with a hacker.

Yeah - at the time I said they needed to somehow make the limits be known (building piece limits or something) vs just having insta bans with no warnings… Feels subjective to me and frustrating for a game that emphasizes in their own game videos the building aspect of the game and the ability to make large/fancy castles…

Anyway, was frustrating for me in that we were some of the earliest to be banned and lots of folks just wouldn’t believe us at the time. Oh well… as a result the server we had been on, which had been consistently one of the more popular official servers, is still mostly dead (3 or 4 players on at a time during peak hours).

I share similar frustrations in that this should be one of the best/most popular games in this genre out there but rarely do you even hear of it. My goodness this game is light years ahead of ARK in so many ways. That being said it just feels like the devs don’t really play their game and as a result have made some “interesting” decisions.

Some of us have been working to try to convince Funcom of a new process.

Mainly:

• Tying the report system to accounts internally, within the game - this would allow for more consistency and accountability for all 3 parties (the current system is easily gamed)
• Providing a warning system into the game - warn > give timeframe > then act if not adjusted
• No automatic suspensions/bans for building violations - only reserved for real serious violations such as racism and alike, hacking or exploiting, etc.,…

Unfortunately this does not address hacking at the source, which is the spirit of my post to begin with.

It was… it’s back and worse

Exactly this:

They’ve been around since the beginning unfortunately

I agree. By removing the offlining part, it reduces time they can access your base. Also, I believe yhere was a thread about a mod that monitored player movement speed? That means it is doable as a check

Final note, as much as modding is a great feature, many of the hack codes are utilizing that access ro some degree. That and having admin panel (tilde) acces (although not functional) on officials is another possible hole for a hacker to figure stuff out with.

All great ideas but we’ve been asking for similar when they first started doing the TOS bans (specifically a warning system and/or visually being able to see the “limit”)… Has Funcom ever provided any feedback?

Nada. Only that they understand the rules are not at their best and they’re being worked on (paraphrased)
