Your tool is too low level to harvest star metal. It has to be tier 4, I think. Acheronian tools won’t do as well.

You’ll need a hardened steel, obsidian or star metal pick to mine meteorites.

This, or go for black blood tools. And yeah, I also had kinda hard time finding the sorting in this matter.

This is by far the easiest way with the headhunting still active.

It is bizarre that Acheronian tools are incapable of such a harvest, considering they are hypothetically a tier above Hardened steel.
