Storage containers remain in open state

Basic Info:

Platform: Steam
Issue Type: Battle Pass
Game Mode: Single Player
Server Type: PvE
Map: Exiled Lands
Server Name: =SERVER NAME=
Mods: =MODS=

Bug Description:

Open state for battle-pass storage items does not update appropriatly and will frequently stay open indefinitely after being accessed, this does not happen with normal boxes and chests. (by extension it would so be great if materials showed in the storage container, mining in particular since it is open-top)

Bug Reproduction:

Place, Storage container: woodcutting, Mining, skinning, (presumably fibers too haven’t unlocked yet to test.) or the Arcane Bookcase - open any by activating with ‘E’ exit menu using the Esc key. storage unit remains open.

You can close them with E and they close as intended

I am on Playstation and also noticed that all the new chests don’t close. Not every time but the most time not.

On Playstation there is no button to close the chest. You can open it with square and leave it with circle. The old chests working as intended.

When you press E to close them, you actually open their inventory again. It’s tedious to have to re-open a container just to close it. I agree with the poster, they should fundamentally work like any other (animated) container and automatically close when their inventory isn’t being viewed.

I just re-open it and it will close the second time, a bit annoying, but just one extra step

I’ve actually been using the Hides chest in the open position placed up against my Tannery. The large iron tongs (not sure what the right word is) look like they are sitting in and resting against the lid of the box, looks pretty cool, just a fun way to work with the glitch

That is certainly an interesting use of the bug, Would you have a picture just for my curiousity?

I don’t know if it was intended or not, but I kind of like that you can keep the lids open or shut, as desired. They all look good when they’re open as well.

I must admit it wasn’t my original intent, but I thought it looked cool

It looks okay in that case, except for the lid massively clipping into the trough behind it.

I’ve convinced myself all I see is the containers built in shelf
