Let me guess. Been playing a long time have a large keep or 4, a few hundred chests, thrall capped, maybe a vault or 6, am I close?
Used to have this issue, have to set there and wait and if that didn’t work I pulled my bracelet. I fixed. I quit playing for 2 month, all my in game stuff decayed away, deleted my various characters on various servers, and started a nice fresh game; well 2. Not having the issue on either of them.
I know people are going to say I’m just on my pet peeves, but I had the issue, starting fresh games solved the issue for me. I’m not saying wipe all your own stuff, but…
usually when this happens, I just wait a few minutes (switch to desktop). After I return, the issue is gone and I can move normaly. It definitely is a loading issue. Worst case, I relogg.
So there’s always been infrequent issues with falling through the world, sinking, etc.,…
But, back in winter 2023/2024 they updated and it helped to deal with skybases.
That is when we started to see sinking and falling through foundation issues and rivberbanding on login/respawn.
I am no expert and I don’t even understand what I am looking at with code or the Devkit so this is just a theory.
But what I think they did was added logic between the physic and location of the player(s) plus something that reads the stability of the building system.
I’ve thought that each time someone logs in, the game re-compiles the information about the buildings and this causes players to rubberband and previously fall through their bases because there is missing code/hang-ups/crossed wires.
If I am right, perhaps it is possible that if there are many constructions, the client has to recompile all of them making it worse on busy/populated servers.
I have also experienced the rubber-banding/falling through on bare ground in a far off place.
I have no idea if I am explaining this clearly or even if it is possible lol
Something seemed to change regardless. Then the Apr 2024 update made things worse for falling through/ribberbanding.
Since then there have been multiple hotfixes and updates and each is improving little by little.
