So I decided to try this beta test game again to check out the changes since I last played, specifically mounts. Finally, long after reaching level 60, I found one(which is a separate ridiculous topic). So I trained it up, made a saddle and tried it out. Well I can’t get off, even when I close the game and restart, I’m still on the horse every time. Even when I die I respawn on the horse. It shows a dismount command on screen but it’s blank and I can’t find where to set it in key bindings. I assume this just yet another bug in this monumentally broken game? Is there some sort of fix for it, I have not been able to find anything relating to it.
I think that’s cause your the first to have this problem, congratulations, lol. Sorry, just a little humor. Can you knock yourself off the horse somehow. Maybe walk off a cliff.
I see you are saying that you die and respawn still mounted, but you did not say how you are dying. Have you tried the “pull your bracelet” method yet? Also verify files via Steam?
The “C” key has always been the default for dismount as far as I know. There’s no way you die and end up on the horse, unless its standing on your bed.
Well considering I just did an new install about a week ago I didn’t think I needed to check if the game was OK but I did a check and it found 4 problems. Fixed them and now I can get off my horse. Unfortunately I once again have the bug that made me quit last time. Any time the game crashes, which is constantly, or I even shut down the game myself which often also makes the game crash, when I relog back in I lose most of the progression I made in the previous session.
What I find bizarre is that with the latest attempt at this game I had horrible lag, made the game unplayable, never had any before with the same computer. However, I didn’t have the old bug of the game crashing making me lose all my progression. So I found a video showing how to optimize the game and it worked great, almost no lag at all but now I once again have this damn crashing issue. I really want to like this game but I have never seen such a horrid pile of bug filled crap in any game I’ve ever played.
No it just freezes and I have to shut it down with the task manager. The GPU actually runs pretty cool, rarely over 75C and only uses about 80% load. Never had this problem when I first started playing the game, it wasn’t until much later it started doing this. So I quit for a year or more and just last week re-installed it hoping maybe they fixed the problem. This time there was horrible lag and while the game still crashed a lot I never once lost any progress. I found a video showing how to optimize the game to reduce the lag which worked great, very little lag BUT now I lose progress almost every time it crashes and it almost always crashes when I shut the game down. I kind of like just building in god mode which makes the plethora of other bugs irrelevant but I can’t even do that since it’s just a waste of time, I’ll spend two hours building something, log off for the night, game crashes, then the next day I log in and all my work is gone. Seems to be a pretty common problem from what I’ve read in trying to find a solution which nobody seems to have.
A corrupted install usually happens due to poor internet, pausing downloads, or resetting / shutting down computers. If any of these familiar you may need to redo the repair again. Also Battleeye is notorious for f’ing up your computer if corrupted. I’d try reinstalling battle eye altogether.
I’ve never installed battleye since I only play single player. If it’s a bad install then it’s hopeless since I’ve done at least 10 clean installs so that just means FC has screwed that up too. I’ve never paused a download and I my internet connecting is top notch. I only used mods back when I wasn’t having this problem, once it started I did a clean install and got rid of them.
That only effects one game? It’s most definitely the game, it’s a common problem and it never happens until I get to a certain point in the game. Level doesn’t seem to matter but as soon as I start building anything more than a small hut with a couple crafting stations then bam. I’ve never yet been able to get past making hardened steel. I tried yet another new install since I did the optimizations just in case the one I DL’d last week and fixed once already was beyond help, got to level 37, added a second floor to my base for crafting and that was it, crashed, lost 3 hours of work, started all over again, shut the game down to go to bed and it crashes, next day all my work was gone again. Think I’ve had enough.
Well I found a way of sort of being able to play, I just exit the game every ten minutes. Started off OK, usually worked about 80% of the time but there’s something wrong with the game in that the farther I progress the less chance there is that when I exit the game doesn’t crash. Up to about level 30 it didn’t crash that often, then up to about 40 it was maybe 20 to 30% of the time. So far over level 40 it seem to be about 50/50 so I doubt the game is even playable once I go any farther, I spend more time reloading the game than I do playing it already. Odd thing is that with this latest install the game is back to being really laggy again and I in a lot of places there’s always a lag spike. For instance there’s a camp across from my base that’s at the top of the hill. Every single time I get to the rise of the hill the game almost comes to a stop due to the lag. Don’t know what it is with Conan games, they have so much potential but seem to have fatal flaws.
