Bug Description: decay rate is set to less then 8 hours.
A clear and concise description of what the bug is.
For the past few weeks I have been noticing the the decay of my bases has been getting quicker, and quicker. First it was at roughly 26 hours, the dropped to 12, and now it is less then 8 hours. People work, and sleep, why is the decay rate so short? I mean I would love to go camping for a weekend as well, but I would come back to a zeroed based if I did that right now.
Expected Behavior:
To have a decay rate of at least 3 days minimum.
Steps to by step to reproduce
Log out, and go to sleep, then log back in to find a bunch of your static items decayed.
Hi, the decay rate is also linked to how many building parts are connected. With a repair hammer you can see how big the decay time is.
When there are 20-30 building items connected to each other you should have the maximum decay time. Normaly its 7 days so you need to login within this 7 days to reset the timer. Actually there is the summer decay time for this and I think the whole next month too, which double up the decay timer to 2 weeks.
Once I had a wheel of pain 20 meters away from my main base. It dacayed in few hours I just made a way of foundation’s to the wheel and than I get the full decay timer value for it.
So how do you connect individual builds like beehives, and animal pens to larger main builds, because that’s what is setting to decay within 8 hours.
Also on my exile lands server it is decaying everything daily, not as short a timer, but still daily I have at least 3 thing set to decay.
You need to connect, and place, everything via foundations starting from your main building to benefit from the shared decay timer for all the pieces.
For example, I built three separate structures and need to refresh them independently. Even if I try to connect then or built them close to each other it doesn’t matter, they will always have three different and separate decay timers.
If everything is connected as I mentioned, this is perhaps a diffrent issue that needs to be reported as the actual bug.
I did report it as a bug, and I am getting useless noob info instead of assistance from funcom. If this was an issue since day one I would have figured out something, but this is new since the “summer decay rate” started. So please keep your general info for other topics, like players helping players.
I really hope that this is resolved for you soon, so that you can have a wonderful and beautiful time outdoors on your camping trip this weekend. I wish you all the best, take care.
@FuncomAdmin0 still waiting to hear from you guys about the decreasing decay timer. Please fix this so that I don’t have to rebuild everything over again.
I am sorry to hear that. But you must be very patient or just accept this. I don’t think someone will help you here. Maybe some of the next updates will fix this. But here comes the patience I don’t think any of the bugs with the loading issue at pvec or the slow loading grafics will be fixed this year.
Unfortunately I’d have to agree. I have been playing this game for years now, and they only seem to respond quickly to exploits, or amazing thrall discoveries. Bugs seem to be unimportant to funcom.
I agree. If there is an exploit that allows players to get swords of Crom from every drop, call a 5-alarm fire. ALL HANDS ON DECK! But if there are game breaking bugs that make it so players can’t play:
You never considered that correcting a bug that allow a 100% drop rate for a particular item is easy to do : changing some numbers in databases ? And that’s why those bugs are corrected very fast. While many other bugs are a lot more complicated to correct. And more often than not each time one is corrected, the correction generates a few more bugs with more negatives effects.
I don’t mean any offence, but your questions/statements (e.g. connecting beehives etc) are clearly not that of a “day one” veteran player. But there is no shame in that.
I joined an official PvE server to test this for you, and decay is definitely working as intended.
Your issue appears to not be replicable under normal circumstances.
Therefore I doubt you will receive a meaningful response without more detailed information.
For example;
Server name
Build location
Tier of building pieces
(Pictures speak a thousand words)
Here is a video that will explain the decay system, and creating shared timers;
Good luck!
P.s. You should tag @Community (not admin) for a faster response. But I think only @Dana is here.
I would have to say that your test is flawed. One you are not playing on my servers, and you are assuming that my response is focused as an actual question.
Beehives, and animal pens do not interlink with foundation, nor does the wheel of pain, and torches. If you had any experience at all you would have caught that.
The decay rate on the Isle of Siptah server I am playing on has an average decay rate of 7 hours atm, this is because the land claim system is so heavily narrowed atm that it is not registering all of my out buildings as a part of my main build, and they are practically right next to each other.
The cause is easy to figure out since this isn’t the first time this bug has appeared, but if it is just ignored it will progress, and effect other servers with similar settings.
I hope I helped yet another new player to the game, so please take all this basic knowledge, and spread your wings little birdie.
Well you stated NA Official PvE, as I said your issue is not replicable on the official PvE servers I tested. That is why I encouraged you to provide more detailed information.
Unfortunately “Practically right next to each other” does not guarantee a shared decay timer. If you watched the video you would understand that. As would most “experienced” players.
The claim radius is the same as it was before summer decay. I don’t recall it ever changing on PS. I think it was at one point slightly lower on PC during EA… But that’s irrelevant.
I joined yet another PvE server just to double check. As expected the timers “interlink” with correct placement.
Watch the video. It’s quite apparent that you are lacking experience with the building decay system.
There are literally dozens of identical posts made by new players/ people with a few months of casual play time.
