True! Survival games have an issue to be balanced. Most of all because devs want to create difficulties but at the end reality is not so funny.
I do remember my first sand storm, my first reaction which was merely logical was to dive in deep waters to avoid the sandstorm. But… No i died from sandstorm under water. Then i find my first Kudo, this was my first big discovery in this game. I collected exquisite meat and i said, mmmm this must be more nutritious… Nah, nothing changed.
Then again , i remember the temperature effects were more aggressive, now everything exists because it pre exists, the game is “less” survival than ever.
Even our death is handy .
So on conan exiles the survival conversation can take no place anymore. And i believe that we will not return back in to the harsh survival environment anymore.
It has it’s ups and downs, but surely…
It’s a survival game with beautiful combat skills.
It’s a survival with beautiful building possibilities
It’s a survival game with nudity and i am speaking from the freedom part, not the sick one.
It’s a survival game with multiple role play choices.
But it’s not a survival game actually!

Saw this video earlier today and laughed so hard, especially when he finally understood the survival mechanics only to be eaten by a zombie no one had told him was in the game
It is not like I hate zombie survival games… There are just too many of them, and even I got surprised in a survival game when I suddenly saw a zombie and thought WTH… Went back to their steam store page and saw no mention of zombies, it turned out that the dev had added them because a lot of players begged him to add zombies

Oh bloody hell, this reminds of the early access days where just going slightly up towards the Summoning place could result in heatstroke and a very fast death

Also I remember the Hyenas with fear in the early days, they would follow you as long it would take them to catch up to you, they were slightly faster than me, we couldn’t climb in ea so I had to quickly find a cliff I could jump of hoping the fall wouldn’t kill me before I ran out of stamina, and sometimes I saw the damn hyenas finding a route around the cliff and slowly catching up to me again, and if I was lucky I found deep water that I could jump in where they couldn’t follow me… Only to sometime find out that I could not get out of the water again because of a bug at the time

It’s a survival game with multiple role play choices.
But it’s not a survival game actually!

You are not alone, many of us like these elements, and they are likely one of the reasons why this game has a lot of die hard fans, I just wish there was a little more danger generally and a bit more punishing to the survival aspect, but it is still one of the best games I’ve ever played

Luckily, in Conan Exiles, the zombies are on my side. Schrödinger the Necromancer likes followers who are both alive and dead at the same time.

It has it’s ups and downs, but surely…

We need voip back for in game talk. Mixing audio can bog the system down. It also requires a little more robust trust levels. (I’m not derailing this thread.) There will be a time that Funcom will no longer support the ps4 unless it is pro or ps5. Isn’t this what the xbox users just went threw?

For me it was very important to support the game on ps4 until ps5 consoles were available in all the markets without pre order anticipation, or overcharged consoles because of this situation. In my country now, ps5 is available everywhere! I bought it with dual charger device, wireless head set and God of war Ragnarock, 640€. 2 months ago they were selling just the device 800€ or pre order anticipation.
Ps4 on 2024 will die, that’s for sure. The games must go forward. I believe that even the Sons of forest will not be available on ps4.
The “bad thing” with our console is that it has to be accompanied with a proper tv set. Years ago, on 2008 if i am not mistaken, i was playing pro evolution become a legend on ps3. I had a plasma 42 LG. My wife didn’t want me playing on my living room, so she placed my console on my office with a 21 inch tv box… No way .
So i stopped in a shop and i bought a Sony Bravia HD 1080.
The difference was HUMONGOUS!!!
So i believe that this console now needs an Oled or whatever they call these new curved sets.
So my next move is a proper tv set for this console @Dzonatas .
