The order to move thrall keybinding

This is more of a suggestion than a bug. However it does have a kind of bug associated with it too.

I would like to ask and suggest that the Thrall command for a thrall to move to a specified location (what your cursor is on) be moved from the E keybinding. It’s kind of annoying to try and order a thrall to move to only pick up a rock or other item on the ground. Too many things bound to the same key is not good, imo.

Also, (this is the bug) when the order for the thrall to move is moved from the E keybinding, please unbind the E. I have rebound the command and gone to check a workstation (like the wheel of pain) only to have the game say that I ordered my thrall to move. Frustrating.

Steps to recreate:

  1. Go into Options
  2. Re-bind the command to order a thrall to move to a different key or mouse button
  3. Hit the E key
4 . Watch your thrall move to the spot your cursor is on even though the command was rebound.

I play single-player without mods.

You can rebind the command to a different key. For example, I use Z to command by thralls. By default the command is empty and uses E, just make sure you bind the “COMMAND” line to another key not “COMMAND MOVE”.

Btw, this is the forum section for TestLive (Test Client for Conan Exiles).

Thanks for the reply Narelle. I know this is test live. That’s what I’m playing.

I rebound the “Command Move” key. Coincidentally, I also rebound to the “Z” key.

The point about binding too many things to one key remains valid. For instance, recently when I was trying to craft a standing torch (the one you can place on the ground) I hit the SPACE bar to “craft all” and ended up picking up everything in the Artisan’s bench instead. This happened two times. I don’t know why since the SPACE bar command becomes inactive for picking up all the items after you select an item to craft.

Just to make sure we are on the same page. I have:

Command: Z
Command Move: empty (when left empty, it uses “command” by default which is now bound to Z)
Command Attack: ctrl+z
Command Return: shift+z
Command Stop: empty

This way, pressing E doesn’t affect in any way my thralls.

As a PS4 player, we do not have the option to re bind keys.

currently, Follower commands are mapped to the square button, which is also the examine object, harvest action.

Its quite frustrating sending errant commands to my follower when attempting to examine an object or harvest while moving.

I guess we’re on a different page. I’ve only rebound the Command Move. Pressing E a little too soon when I’m near a base Wheel of Pain (or anywhere) will still command my thrall to move.

Sorry to hear about your frustating situation @Rollotomozi.

And the bolded part above is why it’s still happening. You’ve only set a new keybinding for one specific use of the E-command, but left the master function unchanged. You also need to set a bind for the master Command function if you don’t want it to default to E anymore.

REBIND THIS:
