The Yamatai Onsen set…

Despite all these bugs… yes, a lot of them… I’d like to take a moment to appreciate the onsen set and its ability to tie in with other sets so well. This was created by @Marylambs and myself on PS5. Obviously, no mods.

I’d love to see more stuff that could go with this. A playable shamisen? Oiran and geisha stuff? Etc. oh, and can we PLEASE get fences to match the stair banisters???

Looks good, I like the curved walls in the pool.

I was waiting to buy this set until I saw some reviews. I fully expected you to not be able to actually lay down in the bath, but I was happily mistaken. Would be nice if you could put a thrall it it, but that’s asking too much I guess. Do you know what happens if you try to lay down or get up when the onsen has a 1-wall high ceiling above it? I know some things cause you to get stuck in situations like that.

The water from the pump apparently flows right through ceilings, but I wasn’t planning on having it set up on the 2nd floor anywhere, so it won’t bother me.

Overall, looks like I’ll be buying the set.

You can indeed put a thrall in the bath, and strangely, it works as a tavern seat too. The pathing to be able to sit in the bath has its funky moments, but if you approach it head-on, it’s fine. The pathing gets a bit more iffy if there’s a roof or something close overhead, but if you stand in the bath and interact, you can sit down and stand up fine

Thralls & bar patrons can use the bath, that is very good to hear.
It’ll be weird to see fully armored bar patrons relaxing in the bath, but I’m not one to judge.

If you’ll notice in one of my screenshots, you see the new Jeb Sag guy in it. So yeah, they do sit in it if it’s in range.

Also, yeah, the water pump goes through ceilings, but as you mentioned, no plans to put it on a second floor. Honestly, I don’t know why anyone would anyway. It’s pretty silly imo to use a water pump like that a second floor. I just kinda laughed when saw that, but would hate if they changed it. It would make it difficult to make open air baths like the one above if it just stopped. @den don’t consider changing the water pump. It’s perfect!

Yeah, I discovered that fact when I put the sloped roofs over it. However, it’s outside of the range of the tavern, so I can use it myself or put my own thralls in it. Both are fine.

lol it helps that @Marylambs and I both try to think outside the box. She’s a bit better at it. The bath was her work. I had the idea to use lost dungeon. I did the buildings around it. We bounce ideas off each other, argue a bit, throw up hands up in frustration, cry tears of annoyance, and everything else until we’re happy.

Lol I am actually doing something similar with lost dungeons😝

This one’s biggest gripe is that the clay footing is built on to the walls.
If they were clean bamboo walls with the clay footing as a placeable trim (like with the arcane trim) this one would be quite interested.

As matters stand, better cost/value than some recent sets, but still a bit rich for the blood.

Yeah, I like it in some regards, but I think I would have preferred no stones on it and maybe a fence foundation that had them instead. Right now they’re placed upon stable fence foundations. Stable is often my go-to since there’s not many options for stone looking fence foundations that actually look good.

I’d considered getting it, however after building a test section of my base on a friend’s account that owns the onsen, I’ve decided to pass. Why? It doesn’t fit in the area I wanted to place it due to the Ibsen’s footprint being about an inch too wide

The bath part is cool, but the best parts are honestly the stones and water pump imo.
