The reason is because they are about to lose the Conan license because Conan is entering public domain so they will no longer have exclusive rights.

Literally just logged in to address this: it was harder around launch time. Just a few reasons off the top of my head why:

1.Spiders killed with a 2 stack poison
2. Rhino charge against someone not fully in vit meant death
3. Reasource gain was alot slower
4. Combat gave less of a crutch
5. Most people didnt know enough to lock stuff or shut thier doors, now the game does it for you
6.xp gain was way slower, unless you knew the tricks
7. Falling was way more costly
8. Pvp lasted way longer. Sometimes hours
9. Im pretty sure encumberance didnt allow you to carry near as much
10.warhammers could literally throw someone
11. Some thralls were crazy deadly, especially with some weapons being 1-2 hitters

Granted half of that is due to “bugs” but it still made having “it” mean more

I have not played in a minute ill confess. Not since season 1, i dont have the time sadly anymore… but unless it got way harder my point is still the same

Edit: yes sadly i kinda preferred the launch difficulties

Eh, its got alot more to it then Conan does. Im actually doing another playthrough right now in Ark. I figure it will take 6-8 months.

Appreciate the opinion but I disagree. I’ve been playing this game since day one and I like it, potter nonsense and all.

Yes PVP is toxic. However if you go into PVP game like I do no base just carrying your benches with you you can never be raided. Because there isn’t anything to raid. Low profile until you strike. Always keep hidden. Players are so surprised when there base is destroyed. I can and will play my way.

There was literally a Single-Player mode since Early Access. I was never interested in multiplayer, so I wouldn’t have bought the game without Single-Player.

PvP has always attracted schoolyard bullies, or grown-ups with the same mentality. Some people just go out of their way to make other people’s lives miserable, in games as well as in the real world. I’ve seen plenty of that in the past 20 years or so, which is one of the reasons why I’m not interested in multiplayer.

I think Conan: Exiles is done for because of the unaccountable third-party live services making the game virtually unplayable every time a sysadmin drops their Mountain Dew in the server room on a Friday night

PvP needs a reason to be. We know you have many choices for PvP, and we thank you for flying Conan Exiles. Etc.

Lisence to produce content based on a copyrighted work is not the same as a copyrighted work entering the public domain. The Conan the Barbarian IP won’t enter the public domain until 2028.

Yes, they are about to. On January 1st 2028. That is FIVE years away. So yes, one could say that five years is “just about” to happen.

And just to add to this, the IP entering public domain wouldn’t be an argument that Funcom would not be able to produce this game. It would mean they could produce anything about Conan without paying for a lisence to do so… along with the rest of the world.

Exactly. It would free them up to do anything they wanted, which is honestly horrible. But they have been fairly good at keeping things relatively close to lore thus far so I don’t see it being too bad. However anyone else can write anything they wanted at all and no one can stop them from doing so.

They own the IP, because since it’s not in the public domain a license is required in order to develop products using it. Once the Jan 1st, 2028 date hits, it’s fair game for anyone to use.

Correction: They own a license on the IP, not the IP itself, that is still copyrighted and is maintained.

Conan Exiles is a game. If we like it we play it. If there are faults and we play it we report the faults as per fault template. If we have hints/tips/etc we feedback. If we have built something we think is wonderful we pop it into the Creative corner. But is is still just one of many, many games out there. Vote with your feet.

I have played other games, but I personally do enjoy Conan Exiles, warts and all. I love the gamestyle. I have played thousands of hours since day 1.7534 and will continue. I love the new stuff - it took a long time to get consistent new stuff. I don’t like some things and I do like some other things, and can still play without issues. I have found that constructive feedback to a game publisher, in a format that highlights positives/negatives/faults/thanks/etc without screaming, shouting, insulting, etc does work.

After servers are constantly full with officials 40/40 (privates 70/70 players almost all day long) Funcom desides to open up new servers.

In total we´ve got:

19 PVE Server
33 PVE-C Server
72 PVP Server

Since Pvp is happening on Pvp equally Pvp-C I am humbly adding the two numbers together which gives us a total of 105 new Pvp Servers vs 19 Pve.

This doesn´t include privates at all and I can say from personal experience that playing on 70 slot pvp server where totally normal at that time. We barely made it through the raidnights, because the servers where always at max and lagging as hell.
