I think the shields’ statistics are wrong. Their statistics make them more regarded as weapons than a defensive object.
Personally, I only look at their durability.
Instead of health damage, it may be stamina cost per hit. (or reduction of it).
Assuming shields start to cost stamina for each hit they get. If it is counted as a percentage, the different weapons may require different stamina use of the shield carrier. (And shield statistics reduce the percentage of stamina needed by block / hit.).
If a hit on a block begins to cost stamina, blocks without hits should generate stamina after a few seconds. (Half or a quarter of your normal generation).
BTW, The Wooden target can not be found under the category defense, found only under the category search.
