Too many stations? Here's the fix

Since the update, and the implementation of more tables and benches, I think it’s time to address another issue. The cluttered mess of the crafting within the inventory has been argued Ad Nauseam. However, Having the crafting stations upgrade as the alters do, this would be mitigated. Which brings me to another bench that can be implemented - the Drafting Table. To all true architects, you understand ‘over encumbered’. When we’re not, we can’t maneuver right. We feel super-sonic. The Drafting Table is the crafting station for building materials. Let’s make carrying 3000 steel reinforements and 2000 shaped wood and forgeting you need more brimstone a thing of the past. drop it into the drafting table, and get yourself (aka the big brute warrior in the clan) that brimstone, encumberance free!

Are you suggesting the “Drafting Table” be the inventory that mats are taken from when building? If thats the case such a table would be better used by having the ability to pre-assemble the base in preview mode then drop the mats in the table for auto fill in build.

I’ve mentioned something similar in a topic I made about sleeping. Combining the two is, essential, what you’ve just mentioned. “Great minds” and all that. :+1:

While i can get your idea, and of course understand myself very well the utility of such system, not sure if this is realy fitting a survival game.
I mean, i saw plenty games with system pull from inventory, or chests systems. They’re neat, often perf hungry, but useful for passionate base-builders and crafters.

Sure, we know all the sexy walk, and the overemcumbered feeling, still it’s a survival, and not a building or farming simulator.

If i would see one thing, i would be my thralls mining, and sweeting bit more for me, that yes ! :joy:

Having thralls mine? What are they mining for? Very possibly for building and crafting, correct? Don’t take my comment too harsh. I’m only pointing out the simple fact that building, crafting, and farming are the basis of survival games. I do agree having thralls able to patrol - either to guard or harvest. Is a great idea.

There are plenty survival games where you can use npc’s to perform taskes.
Look at ARK and the dinos as well-known example.

I mean, if you had to survive, mine tons of stones, carry you iron, brim and all, did you never wish your thralls could help even more ?
You could even set it up like working stations in a way. Stations need be near a given ressources, and the thralls will work on it as long there are ressources.

You got a point.

But i think it would be possible without ressources out of thin air. I’m not coder, so i can’t hand out here a full working system. But in my mind, sure the “station” or whatever would had to be placed by a given ressource, and only give a set amount of the ressources.

It’s just, when i look often at some of my thralls, i think they have a pretty good live most time. I care for them, dress them, feed them, tattoo them, offer them jewellery. I run around, mine, hunt, geat beaten the hell out, and they laugh and dance while i’m covered in blood. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
