Turning the Hud off before opening the escape menu breaks the game

***Game stops taking player input but continues to run normally, requires a restart to fix. you can’t get back to the main menu. easily repeatable and game breaking. should only require a hotfix.

Please provide a step-by-step process of how the bug can be reproduced. The more details you provide us with the easier it will be for us to find and fix the bug:

  1. turn off the hud via the hotkey
  2. open the escape menu
  3. the hud remains off and all inputs stop working.
  4. restart to fix.

Can confirm, the hotkey on PC the OP is mentioning is Alt Z.

I’ve done this a few times myself taking screenshots. I forget that esc doesn’t reset you back and accidentally lockout my controls. As said the only way to fix is restart the game. You either have to end task in task manager or alt tab out and right click the tab to close it.

Happens to me quite often. have hud toggle bound to MMB, vanity cam on MMBR, and toggle 1st/3rd person on MMBL. try to spend as much time as i can playing with the hud off for better immersion. only turning it back on to interact with menus, the map, and checking hp during fights. happens by mistake about once per session.

Yep, another hapless victim of this bug here, easy enough to work around (restart) but annoying all the same.
