Unable to connect to Funcom Live

here it is still not working and nobody knows anything

It’s not a funcom prob. It’s a steam prob.

Same (Steam FR)

I get that this happens and things go sideways , but the fact that no one from either Funcom or Steam have given any info is like telling us we don’t matter , you already paid for the game and we have your money. Just be nice if there was an update saying anything. even if it said , “Yep , it broke. trying to fix it no eta”

Where does it say that? I only see people there complaining about the same thing as we do here but then in the conan exiles steam forum?

I meant shouldn’t they say something, especially if it is out of their hands. why would they stay quiet? if it has nothing to do with them??? I would love to hear a explanation to this now?

They should get the guy who developed the queue system in Everquest. The game never had one for its login or servers untill just a few years ago (like 19 years after the game released). The story goes from what I remember is that it just wasn’t doable due to the game running on some ancient code. But a new coder was hired on for some unrelated stuff. He thought he could make a queue system and was allowed to do it when there wasn’t other pressing content needing attention. Eventually after a few months, he did it, and just in time too. They released a new server that filled up, needing the queue system, looking at the number of the queue they decided to open a sister server, which also had a queue. These new servers had 10,000 player capacities, so this was pretty crazy for a 20+ old MMORPG.

But unfortunately not everyone can make that work like that. Nor do I think it applies here. A queue system wouldn’t help here since it would simply sit you in the queue until the problem goes away. Which is the same as simply going off and finding something else to play anyway.

The issue is unrelated to the number of people trying to play the game if certain internet activities are the culprit.

Honestly, I don’t even know if they are aware or not. I don’t work for them or with them. What I’m trying to say is that even if they’re “working on it”, there’s not much they can do.

I wouldn’t. The best I could hope for from hearing that is to find out that they’ve been working on it all this time. That’s the best outcome. Everything else is worse and more disappointing.

Try to login into steam via browser or Android App. Even that do not working. Funcom servers use steam credentials to login via steam api. When trying to login your credentials are being sent via api to steam.Their login servers are unreachable. The funcom server didn’t get an answer and refuses the login try.

Holy crap , did the above suggestion and just clicked retry while Valheim was downloading
 got to my server
 see how long that lasts.

Seems to be working again

I hope there is a way in the future this can be prevented

Okay, let me explain – to you and everyone else – why server queues have nothing to do with this and wouldn’t solve anything.

Here’s an explanation of what happens when you start the Steam edition of Conan Exiles. Let’s start with the cast of characters:

  • Game Client: the program you run to play the game.
  • Steam Client: the Steam program on your computer. You have to run it before starting the game.
  • FLS Server: a computer in the cloud that keeps the directory of all players and a bunch of Funcom-specific info about each player, such as their Battle Pass progress and Bazaar inventory.
  • Steam Web API Server (or Steam Server to his buddies): a different computer in the cloud that you can ask to fetch info (or do other things) about Steam users.

Okay, so here’s what happens when you start the game:

  • Game Client talks asks Steam Client, “Hey, who’s the dude that’s running this game right now?”
  • Steam Client answers “Oh, it’s JohnnyTheOneHolmes.”
  • Game Client says to Steam Client, “Cool, cool. Here’s the thing, though. I gotta talk to the FLS Server, and you know what he’s like. He’s gonna ask me for proof that it’s really JohnnyTheOneHolmes, and that he really can play this game. Can you help me out?”
  • Steam Client answers “Sure thing, here’s a ‘ticket’ you can use for that.”
  • Your Game Client now has a ‘ticket’ authenticating you. It’s a bunch of gibberish-looking numbers, and the whole point is that they can’t be faked. We’ll see why in a bit.
  • Game Client now talks to the FLS Server, “Boss, do you know a guy from Steam called JohnnyTheOneHolmes? He wants to play the game. Here’s his Steam ticket.”
  • FLS Server says, “Hang on a sec, lemme check that real quick.”
  • FLS Server then goes to talk to Steam Server and says, “Hey, there’s a dude, says his name is JohnnyTheOneHolmes, says you know who he is. Do you really know this guy? He gave me this ticket, saying his logged in right now. Is that legit? Can he play my game?”
  • Steam Server checks and comes back with, “Yeah, the ticket checks out. JohnnyTheOneHolmes is logged in right now and really owns this game. We’re good, bro.”
  • FLS Server then tries to look your account up in FLS account directory. If you’re not there, it’s gonna create an account for you. If you are, it’ll fetch the data about you and hand it back to the Game Client, e.g. “Yeah, okay, it’s all cool. JohnnyTheOneHolmes can play the game online. I have him as ‘JohnnyTheOneHolmes#69420’ in my directory, bu that’s a mouthful, so here’s a big-ass number to identify him with. If you wanna know about his stuff in the Bazaar or his Battle Pass progress, make sure you give me the number and I’ll look it up.”

Now, at any point in that little comedy, something can go wrong and turn it into drama.

What’s going wrong today is that FLS Server can’t get a hold of Steam Server. I don’t know exactly why. To continue with the analogy, maybe Steam Server had too much to drink last night and he’s hung over, so he’s not exactly at full capacity. And everyone keeps yelling at him, asking him about this user or that, trying to shove tickets at him so he can validate them, and his head hurts so freaking much. And all these other servers that yell at him, they’re in a hurry, they don’t wanna keep everyone waiting, so they yell and wait for a little bit and if he doesn’t answer on time, they go “shіt, he’s not home, better tell my user he’s SOL”.

Occasionally, though, he’ll manage to give an answer before the other guy gets the idea that he’s not there, and that’s how you get lucky and log in when everyone else is unable to.

I hope this helps

So nobody have solution about this issue ?

well its server host’s issue nothing we can do rn

all i can do is just keep try reconnect, sometimes i can get in :disappointed_relieved:

My nephew is was just able to get on but i still can’t and we live in the same house.

Wow, it has been down all day

Same issue here. Thank you for sharing.

Only if you shift the goal posts to misrepresent what I said

For example:

Ain’t what I said.

I’m saying that not being able to log in is not Funcom’s fault, or under their control. That doesn’t mean they’re handling the situation correctly.

Like I said in one of the posts here, I honestly don’t know if anyone is even aware of the issues, much less working on them.

Preach! I’ve been annoyed about that same kind of shіt ever since I got myself some of those “smart light bulbs”. They’re on the same fuсking local network as the app supposed to control them, but no, they have to make a round trip through the fuсking cloud, because the 90% of IoT stuff seems to be designed by smooth-brained “architects”.

Welcome to the 21st century, I guess.

The link you provided shows the status of PlayFab servers and APIs. I don’t see anywhere in there whether there are any connectivity issues between PlayFab and Steam. If I missed it, let me know.

Then stop trying to police every board. It’s tedious. Go find new purpose for yourself.

I’m not able to log in at the moment. Ordinarily, I wouldn’t care as i only ever play solo but
the issue is that I can’t access my stuff (that I should own as I paid for it) from the battlepass in offline mode. That isn’t a good thing as it means you have to be online to access it.

What happens if I’m wearing armor that’s exclusive to the battle pass. Does it still exist for me? Not to mention given that the Battlepass is a timed thing, how much of that time will I miss out on.
