I’m a newer player so forgive me if this is a known or common issue. Or if there was an easy work around that I wasn’t aware of. My Corpse was not recoverable when I died in the Warmaker dungeon. I died from the Dragon right before the last part, I tried to run thought the dungeon naked however the Inner sanctum door wouldn’t open without the key, the key that was in my corpse. I tried to summon my corpse, the ritual performed but nothing appeared, there was also no death marker icon on the map. My body was not looted by anyone, when I checked the event log it showed Lootbag owed by me decayed about a half hour after I died. There wasn’t enough time for me to remake my items and redo the dungeon to get another key to collect my items before they decayed.
Haven’t tried to reproduce the bug but this isn’t the first time I couldn’t recover my items. My Corpse went missing while I was in the mountain as well. This time there was an icon on the map, however no body or lootbag anywhere in the area. It happed after a game freeze and dc on the same server. This was before I learned the spell to summon corpse.
Your body only remains in the world for 30 minutes, so if you use sorcery to summon your corpse, it has to be within that timeframe. By the time your body decays to a lootbag, you’ve lost your gear. Since you’re on a conflict server, also be aware that if you die when PvP is allowed and someone finds your corpse before you do, they can loot and/or destroy it.
Thanks for the reply however I tried to summon within mins of dying. And event log showed it decayed 30 mins after, not looted or destroyed, I was also Solo in the dungeon. Still the issue of the death icon not showing, the whole situation felt bugged.
Yeah, if the death marker didn’t show after you returned home and tried to summon your corpse, either something went sideways on the server, or another player hacked up your corpose (again, only a possibility if this happened with PvP enabled).
This can also be done on PvE actually. Anyway, also to add to all that, if you die more than one or two times, you can lose your loot as well. You usually have up to about 3 deaths before you lose everything, but I’ve lost it after 2 deaths (the first one where it was dropped and a second one trying to retrieve it). Also, another note, due to the frequent server disconnects, it will likely say you lost your loot and can’t summon corpse, however returning to your body can still yield your loot. Really annoying and scary because I died during a purge and thought everything I had (including legacy transferred items from siptah) was gone. My friend said to go check my corpse. He was nearby it and saw it still there. I returned once the purge was over and I was able to loot it, even though I couldn’t summon it.
Yeah… but what sounds like sorcerers gear? And what do you mean did my thrall stand and defend? I was talking about how you can lose your stuff if someone harvests your corpse in PvE. I think you might have responded to the wrong reply?
So now, a sorcerer can summon gear with the circle of power. Sounds like something orthogonal to what is presented, already. I think it is purely a performance issue when someone summons their corpse. Someone who, is desperate for loot, would or have done.
I think you’re missing the point. When someone harvests your corpse, you can’t summon it. Also, if you disconnect numerous times, the game doesn’t seem to let you summon your corpse. Also, when I discovered the corpse harvest exploit, it was prior to sorcery. However, it still doesn’t negate the fact that someone can harvest it before you get a chance to summon it.
As jmk1999 said, they cannot loot your corpse, nor the bag of items left after your body is destroyed.
Even among members of the same clan, you cannot loot each others’ items.
This is actually a bit of a bummer though. Especially in moments where time was running out. However, sorcery has helped a bit, but isn’t always the most convenient option if you’re not prepared or haven’t leveled it up yet.
So true. I lost so many gears before the age of sorcery in dungeons. I couldn’t reach my body in time, when my friend would be standing next to it, unable to loot the gear for me lol.
I confirm this is a bug that happens 1/100 times you summon your corpse. Sometimes, reloading the area will make the corpse display. Sometimes you can’t see it, but your clanmate can see it. Sometimes you just lost everything.
We had an issue like this recently; my partner attempted to summon his body and it didn’t appear. Reading some of the bug reports, he decided to wait out the timer near the summoning circle and, lo and behold, after the timer ticked down a bag appeared on the circle but the body had been invisible. Luckily he was able to collect from the bag before it decayed because he was waiting right there.
