Weight weirdness

Hi!

I just discovered that if my carried weight outnumbers the carrying capacity (I’m 110% over-encumbered for example), and then drop stuff down, the weight does not go down.
But when I drop it, take it back, then drop it and repeat it multiple times, it goes down to 0 - see picture below:

And an other weirdness: we know, every stuff has weight, even armor pieces. If you equip them they still weight the same. Normally. But now, if you have a piece in your inventory, it weights X. And when if you equip it, it will add that X weight into your carrying weight AGAIN. See the 2 pictures below:

Yes, I use mods, but my girlfriend noticed this too.

No one? Only two of us?
I waited for answers, because if it affects multiple people I open a bug report.

I noticed it with weapons. As soon as I equipped the weapon, it’s weight got removed from me. When I unequipped it, the weight came back.

But can you make a video about that without any mods? Becaue it is required for serious bug reports to not have any mods active.

I will check it on consoles too. Sorry @rolee9309, I just noticed your post :pensive:. The previous days I was very busy so I lost a lot new posts, my apologies!

I just had a quick go on xbox (official) but i was unable to get the 0 weight that you got.

I have never seen this. I suspect mods might be the issue unless proven otherwise…

Well, I tried unmodded, fresh game and was not able to reproduce. Probably need to play a bit more and hope for it to happen.
On my current gameplay it does not always happen, I don’t know what triggers it, probably being over-encumbered, I did not notice anything special.

@SirDaveWolf are you playing modded?

@stelagel and @XninjaPIX maybe consoles are not affected(?).

Unmodded

From times to times I get a buff +45 carrying capacity. If I die I loose it and I am over encumbered when I retrieve my things. I remember the video of the sorcery presentation, a Dev said that they want the corruption to have bonuses over time. Since the launch of the game I didn’t notice anything like it except this encumbrance buff I already stated. Sometimes I get over time extra stamina too.

Check what you eat.

Omg you got me :laughing:. Sometimes when I kill and the npc has food I consume it instantly. So this must be the reason and it makes sence. Thank you sir, once again master :+1:t6:.

Interesting on the food. I never ate that food so was not aware there was an encumbrance stat bonus on that meal.

No idea on the weight issue. Personally… I walk slow back to base so never did the drop and pick up concept before. Although if I had drop things, I would not have picked things back up. I am sure most people wouldn’t have picked up items after dropping it if they had weight issues. Although some gear has + encumbrance if you switch gear so they can effect the weight carried percentage. I tend to wear encumbrance bonus gear.

Seen something similar on official, no mods.

Thanks @SirDaveWolf and @GodisGood then it is not mod related.
@stelagel yeah, foods have changed. But I still use the same ones, the feasts only.
I have a lot of rhino head soups for carry, but a lot of lasting feasts too, because cimmerians and vikings drop it pretty frequently. So I am pretty set for carrying a lot of stuff. :grin:

It’s good that feasts do find buff reasons. Players should feel rewarded for taking time and plenty resources to create feasts. Salted pork is a trap. 5 salt for a piece is making it a bit grindy and if I am not mistaken, consuming it you must loose hydration. I will check it later. The good part is that the buff stays long and it’s not affected from consuming pork feast after. So no problem!

Grind crystals in the grinder to get easy salt.

@SirDaveWolf
Yes, especially with sorcery is too grindy to farm crystal :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:. I never tried the harvesting spell in the brimstone lake, is it profitable like the crystals?

Blasphemy!!! Crystal for DP only :slight_smile:

Another thing I’ve learnt on the forum:
I always put rock into the grinder to get salt! Plus the brimstone chopping, but that wasn’t enough.
