What happened to item drops in New Asgarth? There's no steel bars anymore

I really appreciate kind persons, your very welcome fellow exile, but you missed the word “was”. All these places use to be steel farming places, not anymore :frowning:. I remember going a round and gather 2k steel bars from these places. Apparently not anymore.
Today i started a challenge, how to become sorcerer without weapons except sorcery features. I do it live on twitch, i am totally embarrassed because i don’t know what i am doing either on twitch either in game . The new loot system has made my life extremely difficult. I started today and after many hours i am still lvl 24 :sob:.
Without weapons i cannot kill, so no killing means no lvl up. I have died a gazillion times because of the new pve aim bot of mobs and npcs. But, no matter how weird this will sound, i feel a bit challenged. It’s been years since i don’t know what to do and i kinda enjoy this. If the old loot system was present i would be higher lvl and achieve more recipes, so far only 2 .
But that’s it i guess!

Yeah I haven’t found a single steel bar since I started playing this again lol and even on undead or tough area’s (unnamed city etc) no steel bars or steel weapons. Luckily I had my godbreaker armour and a black blood pick when everything decayed, so it’s only taken me a day to get back to star metal tools and weapons. But from level 0 it will be harder I think! especially with the changes to stamina etc, so good luck in getting back to lv60!

I’m having to make steel the old way with steelfire, but will do what someone above suggested and make it from steel reinforcements, now…time to find a T4 tanner for quick tar

Change your perk to efficient harvesting and take a good Thrall with you. I use to travel in the midnight dungeon for tons of hides, yet even a Darfari village can do the job, skin everything in your way. For speed you can always fix multiple tanner tables, if you’re on pve nobody can steal you.
Have fun exile :metal:.

Ps. My easiest Tanner spawn is Firris Flickertongue on volcano.

Same. I have quite a few of her. If you can stand the heat, she’s the most commonly spawned crafter next to the alchemist and taskmaster.

Thanks buddy, I’ll head to the volcano tomorrow and have a look, for now I just stuck thousands of pieces overnight into the slow benches to get some stuff ready for tomorrow. I really need to body vault these thralls and benches next time!

I just farm thralls for fun to find new ones. I’ve got tons of thralls just sitting in crates, organized by gender. You know, everyone always wants a female. I give them away or trade them to people. I got tons of Firis, Saayd Secretkeeper, and Risa the Brutal while trying to get Syra Brennerhet. In the end, I could only find her in the new purge.

You’ll find Firris there…

But i haven’t tried to capture her in this update. Volcano thralls hit really hard and now that they have aim bot magnet, probably it will be harder.
Another good and safe spot is this Darfari camp

I usually go to these camps to gather ritual blood and very often i get a named tanner too. Playing in easier battleground is smarter if you ask me.
After all the tanners are the same no mater if it’s an exile or a Cultist.

She spawns at the Oracle as well, so just run through there and look.

I recognize that volcano spot, I had an incident earlier (lava damage when not near lava) and died, but got my gear back luckily. I think I’ll try the Raiders Ridge one, but am going to put a map room at the volcano obelisk too for everyone to use (the volcano is a pain in the arse to exit)

Thanks for the images and help

Thank you I’ll check there too, I think if you kill the people it should make new thralls spawn right? (if the thralls are not one’s you’re after)

Based on their very nature I would highly doubt it actually.

Correct. Be careful though. They often surround with daggers and stuff. It can quickly turn disastrous if you’re not careful.

I find this hard to believe, the drop rate appears better than Heirs of the North/Lost Tribes enemies were prior to the loot changes. Not to mention the sheer density of the mobs, especially around minibosses.

I literally just loaded up the game and went to UC just to get that screen shot and got a 15 bar drop on my 3rd kill lol.

Yeah the T III fighters with obsidian weapons (and sometimes reptile armour) melt through my godbreaker armour like it’s butter, I’ll use the old arrow lure trick if needed, nothing worse than getting stun locked to death by a group! (one of the things I hate about this game, there is no stun or knockback resistance like Dark Souls ‘poise’)

Also, the obsidian weapons had bleed added to match the grey ones weapons from siptah, so you can get pretty messed up by any of them if you’re hit too much.
