What the h**l are you doing?

Are you completely out of your minds? Hold to sprint on PS5, you must be kidding! That’s the worst possible idea, revert back to what it has been. Having to move the character while pressing on the stick is horrible, you should try it yourselves. No way i’m touching the game when it’s like that.

And the inventories. Why couldn’t you leave it the way it has been for years? There’s absolutely NO NEED to mess with it. Now it’s just more complicated than before, one whole category for twine for example. Stop kidding around. Having to move from inventory to another only by right stick is clumsy, IT WORKED FINE BEFORE SO DON’T TOUCH IT!!!

I have bared with you through all of the previous nonsense changes and updates and i have hoped that one day the game would return back to what it was in the glory days many many years ago but now i’m seriously done with your ideas and so called “improvements”. All you do is make the gameplay experience worse and worse.

I absolutely agree with this.
I didn’t left the game just because I still hope that some day, someone at Funcom will realize the mess it’s become and fix it for good.

I just get disappointed update after update.
Not only it’s not getting fixed, it gets worse and worse.

Sadly theres not much left of the company that made Conan Exiles years ago.

There is! How dare you!

They are. This entire chapter was a mistake. Time for a roll back.

Hm… you obviously dont know how FUNCOM operates.

nothing more to say! So sad

So we just had a an Update in which Funcom were inundated with almost universally negative feedback for changing from precision stack sorting to stack split, and uneccessary UI changes which made interacting with them more cumbersome and less intuitive. So now the hotfix arrives and what was the rationale for moving forward here. Funcom exec proclaims:

“I know! Lets change the button, movement and menu configuration around. That’ll set things right!”.

board room

Sometimes I try to comprehend the logic behind these decisions, but I just can’t. How many more times must the community say this!?

  • Stop trying to reinvent the wheel
  • Stop trying to fix/change what is not broken

Fix the things that are broken; there are plenty of them.

What will definitely end up broken is the ps5 controller if we need to hold L3 to run, @Croms_Faithful .
L3 and R3 are toggle buttons. And if you toggle too much (witcher 3), you’ll bust them too (burned a few ps4 controllers on account of that). Now imagine holding L3 pressed constantly. The mechanism isn’t designed to do that. You’ll start getting drift in no time.

It does MarcosC. It messes with the alignment and causes ‘stick drift’. Meaning that when in their neutral/centred position, the character will move or turn slightly in one direction. I have had this happen to a couple of my controllers too.

Unfortunately it’s an issue on ps5 controllers that this will only aggravate, @Croms_Faithful .
I will never play CE again if this isn’t reverted. That’s how serious this thing is. I know what will happen and controllers prices are above 60 euros. This change will break them in a couple of months, but you’ll get drift way before that. A controller with drift is useless to me.
But I’m convinced this is a bug. Only a total ignorant would do such change.

Exactly.

Folks have developed a solution looking for a problem, so they declare something is a problem, when it works as expected with no community complaints.

But, then, how do they proclaim their prowess?

I call it p*ssing in the soup.

It doesn’t make it better, but it sure makes it mine.

Well, this post didnt got me banned for no reason:

I guess I stumbled onto something by accident of sarcasm.

Priceless xD

That was hilarious

I’ve been playing the game for only about 3 years now and this particular “hotfix” was enough for me to get on my phone mid-game, make a FC account to express how much I’m baffled and frustrated by the decision to change things like menu navigation that no-one-said-ever needs to be ‘updated or changed’. I literally thought it was a bug until I googled the hotfix. Can’t change hold to run? Why? WHY? Please, please revert these navigation changes back to the original.

On the Fallout 76 subject, I love that mess of a game. I’ve played through 4 years straight of bugs and crashes and this change to Conan is enough for me to set it down until it’s “fixed” and reverted to what the controls were.

:heavy_check_mark:

You simply cannot punish more a console player by asking him to run this way.
Only Sony would be happy with this decision because they will go sold out selling new controllers. If we keep pushing L3 to run our L3 button will be destroyed in a week max. Not to mention that we will do muscles even where Conan him self didn’t have .
No…
Please fix…
Yesterday if possible, this is outrageous!

I’ll say it just for the fun of pissing off mods: ARK IS BETTER !

I would also add that this gets more and more true and evident with each update Funcom release, but it would be futile since it’s clear no one in the company is interested in meaningful discussions.

They like slogans, so slogans it is: ARK IS BETTER !

I’ve been trying to wrap my head around it too. I can’t. My best guess is that top-level management is pushing optimizations for improving console controls because they somehow have come to believe console players are where they either are or are going to make their money. Since the console controls were perfectly fine, the mid-level management is just trying to pull whatever they can out of their ass to make top-level management happy, ironically to the detriment of the game because they don’t know what they’re doing either.

That’s all I’ve got.
