I cannot for the life of me find the recipe to make hardened brick and gruel. I could just find out online but I’d like to know how everyone else knows how to craft these things from a recipe.
I think you can start making hardened brick as soon as you have the resources.
10 stone = 1 brick.
Mix Ichor and Twine in the Firebowl Cauldron to make brick hardener.
I’m not sure of the ratio, but you’ll get a ton of hardening agents out of it.
I think it’s 10 agents for each ichor and twine cooked, but I’m not sure on the ratio of twine and ichor.
(1+1 I think).
Then add brick hardener to the furnace when you’re making bricks.
In making hardened bricks, it’s 1 brick + 1 hardener (at least with an smelter thrall but having one isn’t a prerequesite).
When the furnace is finished baking bricks, it will start baking hardened bricks.
For Gruel:
Mix Plant Fiber and Seeds in a camp fire, large camp fire or bond fire.
Doesn’t take a lot to make a lot of gruel.
Once you learn how to make Tier 3 building parts you learn how to make Hardened Brick, and as @Vahlok said, it requires;
- A Furnace or an Improved Furnace (unsure if the Kiln counts too)
- Stone Consolidant made in the Firebowl Cauldron (2 Ichor and 2 Twine make 5 Stone Consolidant)
- Make Brick in the Furnace (10 Stone for 1 Brick)
- Add Stone Consolidant to Furnace (It is a 1-1 ratio with Brick and Stone Consolidant)
On default settings it will take 15 seconds to bake a Brick into a Hardened Brick.
There are some “totally unexpected” recipes in CE
For example you can get Bread if you put some Seeds and Leavening Agent into your Furnace (yes, Furnace, not Stove or Campfire). I don’t remember if you need Plant Fiber for this too… You can get Oil from some fish or various seeds in Fluid Press - and you can get Blood from Human Flesh and animal heads too. But if you get Severed Leg or Severed Arm then you have to put them into your Grinder… or you can cook them in your Campfire too. So the best policy is to take a stack of this and a stack of that and put in everywhere in turn - or to read CE Wikipedia.
I did not know that about the severed arm/leg! I did recently discover that a stack of seeds in the press will give you a tiny bit of oil.
I’m pretty sure it’s 15 plant fiber seeds yields 1 unit of oil.
For bread, it’s seeds, leavening agent and plant fiber.
I didn’t know about the severed arms and legs though. Thanks.
Thanks. I find it pretty dumb that it doesn’t give you the recipes on how to make these VERY important resources. Like making a thrall is a very early quest objective but you can’t make make a thrall because the game doesn’t tell you how to make gruel.
You will need Inchor (loot from spiders), Twine (from plant fiber), Furnace, Firebowl Cauldron, stone
-
Put the inchor (minimum 2) and Twine (minimum 2) in the Firebowl Cauldron, this will make Stone Consolidant. You can read more here https://conanexiles.gamepedia.com/Stone_Consolidant
-
After doing step 1, you now can put the stone consolidant in the furnace with bricks (made by stone). You can read more about this here https://conanexiles.gamepedia.com/Hardened_Brick
Few of them are abit trail and error.
Conan Exiles is a non-hand holding game, many of us like it like that.
So alot of crafting station give you a ??? + ??? = “blank” So alot of it is throw stuff in and see what happens.
I made a suggestion before about adding notes/books at camps and enemy bases to cover some basic things.
I like the do it yourself thing personally. I do get were some people come from.
heck when i figure you could make bread in furnace of all things, it blew my mind.
stone considate didnt have easy click before ether, so had figure it out. Some of them get a easy button… gruel would be one I’d throw on the exile drops recipe for it list. Or better yet, exiles on river could drop gruel. XD
The recipe for stone consolidate in with the recipes in the firebowl cauldron after buying the feat to be able to craft hardened bricks. Then it isn’t too complicated to understand it must be used to make hardened bricks and how to do it.
Not all things are learned by recipes, experiment is a part of the game
You gain the recipe for stone consolidant with the feat for cauldron, make it.
Place stone in fournace, it will be transofrmed in bricks at ratio 10 stones = 1 brick.
Make consolidant at cauldron and place it into the fournace, bricks produced before will be transformed at ratio 1 brick + 1 consolidant = 1 hardened brick.
To make gruel just place seeds and fiber on a campfire, I don’t remeber the ratio sorry.
