Why are PVP Server now PvE server?

I suspect we are going to get another round of server moves/adjustments next year because the Gportal rationale just doesn’t sound right.

And it wouldn’t be like we didn’t see it coming. We all know that PVP servers are ghost towns. It just makes sense to switch them to other types (COUGH PVE-C) that are overpopulated and small in number.

I think the less pvp official servers the better. Why do I say this? Because what servers do people using censored word play on more? The pvp servers.

Officials were nice once before all of that.

In my opinion every PvP server should be wiped every 3 months. The PvE ones can be left alone. I think that is somewhat fair?

Hi

Did gportal also change friendly fire with age of heroes?

No. One of the issues with PVE is years long hoarding. Xmas wipe, new year, fresh server.

Boy do I agree with that. I’ll have 60 frames per second, and I’ll walk up to some of those PVE bases and it drops to 1, yes ONE, FPS. Years long hoarding is correct. Those servers also take a long time just to log into.
What would be fun is, instead of Funcom’s latest fiasco where the PVP servers are all fouled up and became PVE servers, we should do the opposite. Funcom, please make all the PVE servers PVP servers just for a few days. What say you?

pvp don t need to be wiped because players can wipe themself what cause them problem on the pvp server, but on pve they cannot, so if you want a wipe, that pve server that need it, and the thread is not about that, but about a bad configuration of pvp server.

From memory when I called on the G-Portal support for a problem on my server, they act on this one from their office.
It is logical and obvious that they are accessible to the server parameters otherwise how could they intervene in the event of a problem.
The question is rather : why would they act on the server parametes of their client without the opinion or agreement of these!?

@AndyB 1100 server we cannot loot body yet please help!

:point_up_2:

Oh please expound on that, just how do I have a god complex?
Would that be because I believe people should follow the rules?
Or is it because I play like I’m SHARING the server and do not want to infringe on my fellow players?

You want to build a kingdom? Hogwarts? Camelot? Do it on a private server, the public servers are not yours.

Personally I’m surprised anything was done about this in less the 3 months. and I have to ask just how do you get this sort of comparatively quick response from funcom. Just what sort of bribe or threat was used?

“the rules” are not “your rules” you seem to mix that up from time to time…

example:

neither are they yours… so you have no say in who builds what, where and for how long, given they do it withing the server rules. Which state nothing about refreshing builds for years and hoarding stuff.
we had this discussion already anyway.

You believing that your opinions supersede those of others, and even are objective facts is what I mean by “god complex”. I agree with you often here on the forums, but that doesn’t mean I also think you have a condescneding and smug attitude.

Show me where I said they were.

That is up to the ToC and the admin investigating reports.

ahh in a way it does, would you like me to point out the rule or can you find it?

Yes and?

But I don’t, my opinion means the most to me but I don’t expect it to mean anything any one else. That is the nature of an opinion.

Fixed it for you and agree. I know my faults, women have handed me lists.

In my opinion this is what causes public server lag:
Gportal
funcom’s failure to properly optimize the game.
funcom’s failure to properly enforce the ToC.
Hoarders.
Over builders.
Over ornaments.
AI.

Now I will concede points to people I consider knowledgeable on the subject.
But in my opinion #3 would fix 4, 5, and 6.

I love that you aknowledge that you come accross as smug and condescennding, yet you simply continue to be smug and condescendingly give us “solutions” (yes, you say it is your opinion, but you don’t really mean opinion) to what you perceive as causes for problems.

And when I said “we had this discussion already” I wanted to point out that your “opinions” actually have no impact on the problems you layed out. If you truly think that hoarders, over builders and too many ornaments are the cause for the game breaking bugs we see in the game now, like hero quests not working, security breaches, dumb AI, Bazar pricing, bug fixing and content drought, you basically admit it that the problems that bug you the most is just how other players are playing the game, and you don’t like that! How about you take your own advise and just play on single player? Your perceived problems most don’t exist there anyway.

I don’t love it, it’s just a fact.
And I do offer up solutions; viable or not, that is more then most.

I’m not really any authority on the subject so how could it be more then opinion :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Let me cut you off right there. I don’t think any of that, not at all sure why you are claiming I do. If I implied it, I certainly didn’t mean to. My bad.

The issues I pointed out are the ones causing server lag and issues related to it; IMO. Aside from dumb AI none of that has anything to do with how servers run.

Certainly has nothing to do with some one at Gportal some how ■■■■■■■■ up the server setting, and have not yet gotten them all reset, have they?

No, pretty sure how other players play the game may not even be in my top 5.

Don’t like what? How less then one percent of players seem to think they are privileged and some how own the public servers?
Never forget funcom made US the public server HOA agents, and why the entire system fails from the start. And has nothing to do with

Not the topic.

The topic is a miss set server setting that Gportal is, has, may have fixed.
Hell if I know, not a fan of Conan’s PVP.

Side topic is why this one issue got resolved so fast and actually garnered so much rep communication.

The 15xx I’ve checked are fixed as of yesterday. Good.

you literally brought that up and made it the topic when you:

in a thread about PVP servers…

ok, you do you and deflect, ignore what has been said about your “opinions”, even though they have been shone to be irrelevant to the issues you present.

I just had to chime in on your comment to Eaea about PVE servers and “hoarding” and that wet-dream of yours about wiping all servers, when in reality it would solve literally none of the game’s problems. And you’ve been told so over and over again, but you seem to be so full of yourself to change your incorrect solutions, that you continue to present as an expert’s opinion.

I reitterate so you might understand this time: A wipe of the servers just means the same problems return 2 weeks later. A wipe doesn’t change player habbits, and it sure as hell doesn’t fix the actual problems the game has.

Nevermind, the 15xx servers are not ok.

Can’t loot other players corpses, but drop on death is enabled…

@AndyB @den @Community

We need some answers on this, please. Once again - you have left us high and dry, making your exit for your weekend. And once again you leave your official environments jacked up for Saturday and Sunday.

The PvP server settings are STILL NOT RIGHT. :rage:

You mean my response to this?

That YOU had to make a snide remark about and kick this off, ya, that’s all my fault

Some one took it in the spirit it was meant, I have no reason to believe it ever would happen.
I was going to drop it there but this doesn’t math.

How do you get 6 years of built up horded content in 2 weeks?
If players could replace everything in 2 weeks I don’t think players would have such an issue wipe periodic wipes.
Or not being able to log in for a month.
Or getting admin wiped.

Although this conversation is off-topic, the six years of content are essentially content added by Funcom.
Server load is impacted by everything Funcom has added over the years.
Certainly the excessive accumulation of NPCs, containers and their contents, decorations and lighting harms the performance of the servers : but the poor coding carried out by Funcom, the addition of content by Funcom are largely responsible for the poor performance of the servers.
