I noticed when I went to checked the forum after work that my user name and profile is now no longer listed as ‘Regular’, and I am now just a member again. I have even lost the badge I earned for it. I immediately started wondering if I had done something wrong, so I started to check the profiles of other users who I knew had this badge and title, such as @Larathiel@Starwalker@Mikey and numerous others. However, while I noticed that mine and Larathiel’s ‘Regular’ Badges/Status were now gone, the others were not. Now we seem to be back to just members again. What is going on?
Can someone, anyone, please tell me if this was a planned change, or is the forum maybe just being adjusted/updated? Can anyone shed some light on this for us please?

Hi Starwalker. Im not sure what is going on… I hve had the rank for sometime now. I had it when I left home this morning, and Im fairly sure that Larathiel did too. While I cant be absolutely 100% percent certain, as Im not sure where to check it, if I even can, Im fairly sure that I still meet the criterion.
Im sorry buddy, but it provides no leads. It only shows that my previously awarded ‘Regular’ badge is gone. I know Larathiel’s, and also Jim1’s is gone too. Im not sure if any others were affected or not, as I cant remember all of the Regulars, but for the 3 of us, it has definately happened sometime today.
And yes, yesterday we had 99 regulars, today only 97…
And there are people in the list that I did never see posting here, thus if you do not meet the criteria, some of these should have lost their status as well…
Regular:
‘Granted recategorize, rename, followed links, wiki, more likes’
Oddly enough, 17 days ago I sent a message to @AndyB because for some odd reason I had lost the ability to edit headings on other peoples posts (see below). Unfortunately I havent heard back from him. However, I was still (of course) a Regular at the time. Maybe this is a bug.!?Just putting it out there too, Im not sure how the ‘more likes’ is supposed to work, but mine havent changed any since I was first granted my Regular status.
Hi Andy,
Im not certain if I am asking the right person about this or not, so please forgive and re-direct me if and where necessary. When I became a ‘Regular’, I noticed that I had gained the ability to edit the titles of other users threads. However, I no longer seem to have this option, as the pencil icon does not appear anymore. Is this an intended change or a technical issue of some kind or what? Because I am looking at the list of threads on the forum at the moment, and there are sooo many spelling errors. Ones which a person with OCD like myself could be dilligently working on correcting in their spare time. Can you offer any insight Andy? Thanks.
It used to appear next to the text on the right, just like on our headings. As I mentioned above, I used to quite like editing the spelling errors out. It was an OCD thing for me. But for me, it was doing a minor good deed here and there when I could. But that said, I can also understand this being removed too. It could also be used for evil…
This seems to be something on the forum’s software side and nothing we have done on our end. We’re sending this thread to who’s in charge of keeping the backend tidy to see if they can provide clearer info on this situation.
Thankyou so much Ignasis! I felt a real sense of pride getting to that level, and I was kind of crushed to see I had lost it. But I am indeed glad that it wasnt something I had done wrong on my end. After all I can be a trying blighter at times. It might be a good idea (I dont want to speak for them) to check Larathiel and Jim1 as well, as Im positive that they still had theirs this morning too. Cheers for the speedy reply as usual Ignasis.
Ps- I had even been trying to go on a ‘like’ spending spree as a precaution.
Looks like were all on the recieving end of mass demotions for some reason. Although yours seem to be intact (I think…). Thanks to you too for the reply Tascha! Its always a relief when someone comes along and reassures us that were not .
Oh how odd, good catch @Croms_Faithful ! I think there might have been one day recently where I was unable to visit, or didn’t have anything witty or constructive to say. But that’s certainly > 50% of days. Maybe we’re not clicking into enough new topics?
The only other thing I can think of is that I had 1 post community-hidden this week where I was expressing disdain for another poster’s lack of empathy towards people with Repetitive Strain Injuries. Yet that doesn’t seem sufficient to violate the criteria @Starwalker copy/pasted since that requires 5 unique posts w/ 5 unique users.
All of the above criteria must be true to achieve trust level 3. Furthermore, unlike other trust levels, you can lose trust level 3 status . If you dip below these requirements in the last 100 days, you will be demoted back to Member. However, in order to avoid constant promotion/demotion situations, there is a 2-week grace period immediately after gaining Trust Level 3 during which you will not be demoted.
I recently received Regular again after having lost it. I now cannot edit titles like I could for the first few days after I got it back.
Yes, and that’s why it drew my attention. You make awesome contributions, so when it went away I was like “wow, @Larathiel sure is humble.” I really like Discourse, but I sometimes feel as if its conformity elements work counter to the essence of Community. If you feel slighted, please don’t. Many of my corporate and club users turn these features off, or tone them down.
