Why is there no Star Metal War Axe (one handed?)

So going through the game I’ve come to rely on how the axe combat works for 1h + shield, but I’ve just go to the point where I’ve realised there is no Star Metal War Axe weapon. My choices are Hardened Steel, Acheronian (which I don’t like the look of when using a star metal shield) and a legendary axe.

Why is there no star metal war axe?

I asked my self the same question.

It’s a fair observation that this tier of axe exists in DLC, but the recipe for the Ancient Lemurian Axe could be a superior substitute.
