I’m a huge fan of Conan Exiles and enjoy playing it both on console Xbox and on PC through Steam. I wanted to ask if there’s any chance we could see keyboard and mouse support added for the Xbox and PlayStation versions of the game in the near future?
As you might know, Xbox already has a substantial list of games that support these peripherals, including several survival games. It would be amazing to see Conan Exiles join that list.
I’m eagerly looking forward to any updates you might have on this. Thanks in advance for considering my request!
It’s great to hear that keyboard and mouse support is already available for admin functions on consoles. However, I was referring to full gameplay support, like what’s available on PC.
Do you have any plans to extend keyboard and mouse functionality to general gameplay for all players on consoles? I think it would really enhance the experience for many players who prefer these peripherals.
I’m aware that the Game Pass version allows for seamless switching between PC and Xbox, which is fantastic. However, when it comes to using a keyboard and mouse directly on the console, I’ve noticed that the support seems limited to admin functions.
Have you or anyone else tried using a keyboard and mouse for full gameplay on the console version? I’d love to hear about your experience or any tips on getting it to work more broadly.
There is a plugin keyboard and mouse for the playstation. It snaps into the controller. If you are interested, look into OpenXR and controller accessories.
Having a KB and Mouse attached to a console is one thing. Having the console game optimized for it is another. From the pain points of earlier times during updates, I believe the ports to consoles were not done in a manner than is easy to navigate between PC and console versions.
It’s true that simply attaching a keyboard and mouse to a console isn’t enough—the game itself needs to be optimized to fully utilize these peripherals. From what I understand, optimizing the console version to work seamlessly with a keyboard and mouse could be a challenge, especially considering the differences between PC and console architecture.
However, adding this support could significantly improve the gameplay experience for console players, making it more accessible and versatile. It would allow players who prefer these controls, or who are used to playing on PC, to have a more cohesive experience across platforms. This kind of feature could also help attract a broader audience to the console versions of the game.
Investing in such optimizations could be a win-win for both the players and the developers.
