what gets me is this IS a survival game you have to play smart and there is risk of losing everything in it either from death bug or decay. I hate when it happens but it does happen.
I’ve had the same experience and believed I was wearing the wrong gear for the biome. I believe I fell asleep with my kitan imperial cold resistant gear while in the desert biome. Just one more detail to pay attention to I suppose.
Yes, but I would expect my base to be safe. I should not have to strip naked and secure everything in boxes and whatnot just to prevent it from decaying because I am offline.
I should not have to worry about any kind of death when inside my own base. Period.
@FlameBlade, you do have the option of finding a server that does not leave your body in the world when you log off. Check the selected options on the right of the server selection screen.
I agree with you, so that was my choice. Others prefer more of a challenge. Tradeoffs rock.

Yes, that’s in fact a solution.
Still bugs need fixes.
But death caused by extrem temperature are not a bug, but a survival feature. So definitively like you suggested, only a server where bodies don’t stay in world would be entirely safe while loged-out.
I agree completely, that if I log out in the desert, or in the frozen north, or where ever the environment is actively trying to kill me, then yes, I will of course find myself dead when I log back in.
However, if I log out in my base in full shelter, then I do not accept that the environment should be allowed to kill me.
That, I will argue, is a fundamental design flaw.
I think we all agree with that.
But in the meantime the solution of the chest and save log-out is preferable to lose lot good stuff each time.
Cool
Now Funcom just needs to aknowledge that …
