Would my PC specs be sufficient to play?

Hi!

So, I got CE for PS4 and I absolutely love it. However, I’m an avid roleplayer and voice chat isn’t quite doing the trick for me. I would love to purchase the game on PC and switch over entirely.

Unfortunately, my PC is pretty old and a ‘one piece,’ with fully integrated hardware. Not ideal, I know, but it got handed down to me and it’s still going to be quite a few months until I can afford upgrading to a proper gaming station.

I’ve checked my specs on ‘Can I Run It’ and the result isn’t entirely clear to me, so I’m hoping you tech savvy guys out there can give me some advice on whether I can actually run it or not (I really don’t care about playing in minimum settings). If so… could I deal with a modded server?

It says I cannot upload images or links because I’m a new user. I’ll be happy to send the image privately if someone requests it, but for now I’ll just have to write the results out by hand. It says my graphics card is not up to date, but it still seems to meet the minimum requirements, so I’m super confused:

Minimum: Nvidia GeForce GTX 560 (1GB) or AMD Radeon HD 7770 (1GB)
You Have: GeForce GT 540M

Your graphics driver is
over 28 months out-of date

Features: Minimum attributes of your Video Card

Pixel Shader:
Required: 5.0
You have: 5.0

Vertex Shader:
Required: 5.0
You have: 5.0

Dedicated Video RAM
Required: 1024 MB
You have: 1.0 GB

Thank you in advance!

If you’re able to run it, then you’d most likely need to enable a video setting entitled “Low End Laptop Mode”. That’s what have to do on my secondary PC (2nd gen i5, 16GB RAM, GTX 560Ti) and it gives me eye-strain if I look at it for more than a few minutes because it’s so blurry.

IMO, a PC like that is fine if you just need to load up an alt account at the same time as your main to transfer clan leadership or swap gear, but it’s wholly unsuitable for actually playing and enjoying the game (save perhaps if you’re legally blind to begin with). My advice would be to hold off until you’ve got suitable hardware let you kill any enjoyment you might have by playing under such poor conditions.

That said, a bleeding edge system isn’t exactly required. My main PC is 3.5 years old (6th gen i7, 16GB, GTX 1070) and the game looks beautiful at high detail on a 1440p display, so you shouldn’t need to break the bank for a comparable experience. If you’re friends with anyone who works in I.T. see if they have any PCs they’re retiring and maybe you could get away with simply refreshing the HDD with an SSD and adding a gaming video card.

Thank you for the quick reply!

Yeah, that’s what I was fearing. A true shame, as I’m really loving the game. My cousin has a small I.T. shop of sorts, so I may be able to bribe him into giving some of his older stuff away. Regardless, I’ve been wanting to update to a more potent system for quite some time now, so I figure whatever I do will just be a temporary fix until I can get my hands on some decent hardware.
