Yamati Tower Set

Towers of Yamatai is 1200 Crom Coins, which is an average of $ 8.76, when figured for all levels of Crom coin purchases.

Dojo is MIA and fitting for both the game and the style. Then the $50 combo pack containing all of them together.

I think there’s a lil more missing than just the wedge ceiling and wedge foundation - sloping wall, sloping inverted wall, inverted awning corner, inverted ceiling bracket, inverted balcony corner. That said, it is easily my favorite building pack released to date. The detail and color of all the woodwork is amazing, and the way the light affects it all, absolutely beautiful.

They could do an onsen-sized garden pack that adds sand and gravel foundations with some step stones, boulders, and a rake.

Wait, those exist ever anywhere?
This one has seen mods, but never in base game.

I am talking about the new awning pieces that are essentially roof extensions, of which there are inverted roof corners in most build sets. They aren’t exactly analogous to the common awning pieces, despite their name.

as they have a different angle as normal roof and are almot flat, inverted awning wouldn’t work, imho.
I am a bit confused about the straight roof pieces that get larger. Havent found an application to use those yet

Indeed. Now, if only the reasonably priced set wasn’t from a culture that isn’t based on Howard’s writings, and I’d be sorely tempted to buy it.

The existing awning corner piece is already pretty close to the right shape if you could rotate it 180 degrees, requiring only a bit of adjustment on the edge angles to get things to line up. I’d post a screenshot of it if I could, but I am baby account.

Those awning pieces that get larger are meant to be used with wedge angles, which makes the lack of wedges even more puzzling. You can see them in use in the news post announcing the building set.

I swear as I was reading this I was hearing your voice in my, just like watching your channel…

Now that you say it, I definitely wrote that responsive in pretty much the same manner I’d write a video script, albeit unintentionally :joy:

So I’m looking at the set and am I seeing it right? Is there are roof piece that is the equivalent of 3 wedges?

The tower awnings? Yeah there’s one that starts on a single tile and curves out, functions as three wedges essentially

Aye.
The set has that for it.
Sadly no matching wrap around balcony.

All together, pretty good
Missing a few pieces this one wants.
Specifically wedges and sloped walls in the beautiful dark wood style. Been wanting something like that since riders of Hyboria failed to give us sloped stable and lattice pieces.

But for a moment this one would like to gush about the balcony because it’s lovely and functional, no accidental falling off.
Furthermore, it corners well with some practice.

A note for some people, the “fence” is of the doesn’t hurt anyone and can be climbed without breaking variety. Like the half walls from Riders of Hyboria.
This one repeats, it is not anti-climb.

Overall, this one does recommend.
It supplements both Yamatai and Khitan build sets well. Yamatai moreso of course, but several pieces have excellent generalization.

Oh, and because someone was too modest to do so…

I was real surprised to see the gates, too! It’s still expensive but i have got to hand it to the design team. I was looking for pictures for japanese pillared structures and ran into this:

I’m still halfway into building the rough outline/blueprint for my Asuran Yamatai/Khitan base but decided to check the pieces. Lo and behold, i don’t have to figure out how to create a similar look anymore with this pack.

BP coins well spent.

:grey_question:

This one, going with no religious altars but building on Asura’s Basin in Siptah.
Also works for the idea of the player characters that keep coming back after death on Siptah after you remove the bracelet, being exceptional individuals.

There’s also the fact that there aren’t really good religions for the Yamatai except maybe Mitra.
Khitan worship many gods and demons, whatever they feel is real so i guess Asura will do for me at least for lack of a better option.

Edit: This screenshot doesn’t explain all of it but you can find bits and pieces online of Conan lore and flavour texts and whatnot.

This set is just cool as heck to build with. I keep finding new and interesting things to do with it, like hidden doorways, half-width hallways, industrial-style catwalks, wood truss bridges. turret roofs.

Found two more pieces the set could use - left and right L stairs. They are perfect for accessing balcony pieces, but none of the existing L stairs match the style well.

One of the best things on the bazaar so far. I wish for something similar for Aquilonian DLC.

Thank you for posting the video! Feels a little rude sometimes to self-plug on the forums, I try to do so sparingly :joy:
