Your most favourite place/zone

For me that would be Transylvania, as i am European. Also those old soviet structures take me back to my boyhood. Oh how many hours i spent with my friends in those ruined barracks, hangars and armouries. Let me just say once more how amazed i am by atmosphere this game creates…

As for places that would probably be the Facility, i love the ambience and the whole phantom cosmonaut business.

I’ve always really liked Shadowy Forest - I like the feel of the place, and the eclectic mix of folklore and stories.

On the day before the lever was pulled to put TSW in maintenance mode and SWL went live, I asked everyone to do a “Where will you be when this world ends?” screenshot. This was it for me, and this was my favorite place.

This one? I’m going to read through that thread now, and get all misty-eyed and nostalgic in the process.

Just got lost reading old threads there. Found my reply to that thread:

Damn I’d forgotten just how depressing that thread was. Though there are certain similarities in the atmosphere here now. Wonder how Nirvelle is getting on nowadays?

Oh, wow. That thread brings back memories. I still haven’t said goodbye to my TSW characters and I still visit every now and then.

I’ve been back there occasionally too, and at the moment I’m bringing another character through the story. Just made it to Kaidan tonight. Everything about it is so much better than SWL. Even AEGIS, which I’ve always really liked. It made combat much more challenging.

I occasionally mess around with a newbee character in KM.

Now I’m thinking I shouldn’t have reminded people of that thread’s existence. Some of those posts were beautiful.

I wanted to put “For it is as much a descent…”

Exactly this. I’ve spent so much time just walking around the forest. It’s so beautiful. On the other hand, I’ve started playing SWL in autumn and the starting area of Kingsmouth gave me similar feelings. The locations are one the strongest points of this game.

Hi, I personaly like the Helldimensions very much. The brutal landscapes and the big machineries look so stunning and otherworldly. I would be so happy if there were more missions in the Hellrealms. :innocent:
For normal territories i would say my ranking is as follows:

  1. Egypt
  2. Solomon Island
  3. Kaidan
  4. South Africa
  5. Transylvania

Kingsmouth. I’m from New England and grew up in a small lakefront town reading Lovecraft and watching horror movies, and spent lots of time on the coast in small towns like this. It’s perfect.

Agartha. It is just so beautiful. The light, the custodians (mini-custodians are so cuuute!), I love the whole idea of the world-tree. Portals to bring you everywhere. The soundeffects are a positive trigger for me, the time it takes my laptop to load anything is really long and when these sounds start to play it means I am almost there.

I tried to find a wallpaper of the loading screen with a custodian on it, so I could print it and hang it on my wall, but was unsuccesful so far.

On a branching tree, suggesting sheer endless possibilities on just how extensive the game world would become. As opposed to jump pad Mallgartha, which come to think about it suggested right from the start actual new content would be a trickle at best.

And yet the new jump pad agartha actually takes you to more places. There’s no reason that new pads can’t be added, it’s just your personal bias that makes you think it’s more limited.

Do you not miss the times you miscalculated either the drop to Venice or the drop after to Transylvania and had to start over again from the main platform? Such nostalgia… :upside_down_face:

Ahh, my personal hell, the hours I spent to get the lore on top of the Venice portal

So far for me, I think it’s the prison in the quest “Beneath You It Eats Its Name” and the trapped temple that came before it.
