7 days decay timer? no way!

You don’t need to have your computer turned on with all of the methods I’ve shared.

Besides, when it is enough for all of you? 2 weeks? People will complain that is not enough. So what about 3 weeks? A month? 2 months?

1 week is more than enough and you have options. Don’t inconvenience others because you have not prepared yourself for the reality of playing the game. Besides, what joy is there in logging in once per week? Let it go.

Going on vacation? Get friends to join your clan and refresh. That’s not possible? Look into remote connection methods. Still not an option? Body vault and return when it is possible. The ease of which you can dismantle a base is phenomenal at this point. The only thing you lose is the experience while you’re away which in most cases you’ve agreed to do.

This is something that needs great conversation!
In pve servers nobody should be able to loot anything from other players even if these drop from decayed bases.
But that’s me!
Still i will ask the pvp community one thing.
What’s bugging you more?
If you loose something or if someone else has something yours?
I personally know the answer!
So no pvp on pve, thank you!

Indeed it should be longer. I don’t get why devs put back those 168 hours, when everyone was happy with 336 hours.

Also today I found out that my other outpost on official server decayed 3 days ago, although I ALWAYS refresh decay counter on main base, all maprooms and that outpost, which is gone now, every 5-6 days. The same happened to me a month ago with maproom near frost temple.

I refreshed this one the same as the other maprooms, then I came back after five days to find out in event log, that someone was able to demolish it two days ago. Also this maprooom always showed different number in decay timer than others, altough it was built the same way as others and I used the same amount of building pieces.

I don’t understand the decay timer in this game, apparently it is not working properly anyway.

I’m mixed on that. I agree because it’s boring if you got the influx of all the stuff but at the same time, it will be wasted otherwise. I’m still going to pop the base even if I don’t get loot because of server load. When first doing PvE, I would let it go for a natural decay only to see it 3 days later as the serial refreshers come in at the last minute to keep a sand castle they don’t actually play with. So I pop any I come across because the PvE servers are straining as is.

It’s because you never had probably the bugged decay .
I play in multiple servers, so i make sure that every 3 or 4 days i will visit them all. Not just refreshing, but to play. You cannot imagine how many times my homes (i don’t build big) have decayed before 80 hours and someone think tgat it’s smart to break my door and empty all my house. In the beginning i thought that this was a bug, but @Ragnaguard opened my eyes by telling me that this is the way to empty someone else’s base without destroying it. Of course this way your name doesn’t show up on inventory log, all it says that it lost stability, not that it was stolen :rofl::rofl:. But i really don’t care, i don’t give a dime. Yet do not expect others to be ok with it, most people who play pve don’t like to be stolen!

stelagel, then how would you prevent those bugged decays?

One could think that keeping 1-2 days reserve for refreshing is enough to keep your buildings safe. I also always stay on the building until the timer resets, sometimes it takes even minute or more. Everytime I make sure the counter is back on 168 hours until I move to another.

So how often should one log in and refresh it? Every other day? The worst thing about this is the fact I don’t know what was the problem exactly and also fear of losing the main base this way.

I do about 3 to 4 days. That way if it gives me some leeway but if I haven’t played in a month, I start seriously looking letting it go.

Thank you Archivist, but what point exactly you didn’t understand that i don’t just refresh, but i play . But thanks for your interest, i really appreciate it . Just for the record, i use to mainly play in many official servers and maintain a lot of maprooms. I lost a lot until i learn to walk with a repair hammer with me :rofl::rofl:. But thanks for the effort, really… And welcome back .

The thing is decay is there for a reason it’s not the other persons fault if someone lets their stuff decay instead of using a repair hammer to prolong the decay. The decay process is used to make sure people are active and not just dropping a rando base and stop playing.

The decay bug @Sloegin2001 , is the bug that reduces the decay timer without reason!!!
Decay bug :man_shrugging:.
On PlayStation is very common!
You cannot imagine how many players lost whole bases at once! I remember @lordgangsta on 3728, logging out in his Savanah base and the next day he logged on thin air. His whole base disappeared from decay :man_facepalming:. Some other times you will loose an item or a bench in your base from decay, no matter if you were playing there every day 10 hours per day.
@anon83039162 once lost half of the candles she had decorated just like that, they just decayed!
Decay bug! It exist on PlayStation since day 1 like the auto cooking bug! If you haven’t
experience it so far, either you don’t play on PlayStation either you are lucky my friend .

If you play on PlayStation nothing is certain! I am really sorry i cannot answer. All i can say is this. After some time i just get used to it, i really don’t care anymore, it’s pointless for me to go bitter in my gaming hours.
I say to my self, cool let’s do this again :rofl::rofl:. The time that it really hurt me it was on the temple competition. I lost on single player a build with over 50k pieces just like that . A week straight work just vanished. You’ll tell me, it’s a game, why you speak about work? I wanted to win this competition, so i gave my whole me in this effort and i was really proud about it.
But, it didn’t worth it eventually!
Giving hope in gaming is like living in sand castles. After this lesson i participate lightly, i build whenever i feel like it and i care not anymore. This day my friend @Archivist something died in me, my passion for building dropped to the ground and i don’t think it will ever rize up again. But i blame only me, i shouldn’t give “that much”, my bad!
Think that everything eventually decays, it helps .

I understand how tough that can be, I was on one of the servers that got merged, and lost everything I had worked on for two years. It feels horrible at the time, but destruction leads to new creation!

I wish you all the best and hope that you and your clan and server-mates create new and amazing builds; even better than the ones you did before

At the very least the decay should be set at 8-10 days to account for the excessive server down times, I try to play when i get home from work and servers are always down, very disappointing. Id also like to see refreshing decay timers work without having to travel to every transportation stone, its getting expensive to rebuild them all the time because i forgot to go to one.
