A Farewell to Xinda

It is with immense sadness that I post here to say that Xinda passed away on 23 January 2025. Xinda was always a welcoming warmth despite that grumpy demeanor, and a great friend to many. Xinda always stuck it out through thick and thin - you could rely on Xinda. Heck, just last Tuesday, Xinda was there raiding with me even though I’d just burnt my arm an hour before and I wasn’t in the best of states. He tolerated it all with that characteristic grumpy kindness and patience… as did the rest of the raid! Xinda was a constant light for sweetlings across the globe. Whether you knew them or not, they meant a lot to many, and it is always heartbreaking to lose a member of the Secret World Legends community. It’s heartbreaking to lose a friend.

Deathstalker broke the news over the Secret World Legends Official Discord Server at 3:45 PM EST on 29 January 2025 through a heartfelt announcement that was shared by Game Master Umborls.

There will be a special in-game memorial service for Xinda Friday, January 31, 2025 10:59 PM in Agartha by The Stationmaster. Deathstalker has invited everyone to come and give Xinda a sendoff Xinda deserves. Attend how you feel would best honor Xinda, and share your love and memories to those around you. Your support will mean the world to your fellow sweetlings in mourning.

If you can’t attend the in-game memorial, there’s still ways to share your love: Deathstalker has also created a special Discord server where players can submit their goodbyes, stories, and screenshots of Xinda. This server is linked in-game on the third news notice in the Daily Login Window and can otherwise be found in the Secret World Legends Official Discord Server.

Whether you attend the memorial or not, you’re welcome to send Xinda your goodbyes in the special memorial Discord server, which will ultimately be given to Xinda’s partner so that they may cherish all of the hearts and lives that Xinda touched through their time with us in Secret World Legends.

You can also post here, on this thread, if you prefer. This thread won’t be going anywhere - just as Xinda’s memories in our heart won’t be going anywhere.

Following the initial announcement, Deathstalker’s farewell message was added to the In-Game News Feed by our beloved Community Manager @AndyB. The announcement can be accessed in-game through the Daily Login Window for the next few days and is accompanied by screenshots of Xinda from others who played with Xinda.

The announcement as written by @Deathstalker and shared by @Umborls on Discord is shared below for you to read:

@everyone Farewell to Xinda – The Grumpiest, Gold-Hearted Gamer

Fellow bees, friends, and lurkers,

It is with a heavy heart that I share the passing of our dear friend Xinda last Thursday. A true veteran of the game and life, he was a grumpy old cat with a heart of gold—equal parts sarcastic and supportive, always ready with a snarky comment or a helping hand. He may have yelled at us to “Keep the passageways clear” more times than we can count, but we all knew he cared.

To honor his memory, I invite everyone to gather in Agartha on Friday, 31st January at 23:59 CET to say our last goodbyes. Bring your favorite outfits, fireworks, and maybe a drink in his honor. Let’s send him off the way he deserves—with laughter, memories, and the occasional eye roll at the thought of how much he’d hate the sentimentality of it all.

Rest easy, old friend. May your respawn be legendary.

Please join the channel below if you want to leave a “goodbye” or a story for Xinda’s partner as a digital condolences card to him.

Dicey at Best

We’ll miss you, Xinda. Thank you for always being you.

This is sad news indeed.

I didn’t know Xinda well, But I knew Xinda well enough to have many memories of raids and groupings over the years in Secret World. Most often - silent and not saying much, adding to their mystery, until that quip of a one-liner. But I knew we had a good team member whenever Xinda joined. We have indeed lost another great Bee.

My thoughts are with their Partner and the family and friends of Xinda.

Fly high sweetling - you will be very much missed. :honeybee:
