A grass-y question for Mr Dennis

We all know that too much grass can be bad on your health…

…therefore my heart was rejoiced once I heard that finally, after years (…ok, just a year and ~5 months since I first saw the intro to the game) of being forced to “go up”, to avoid the inquisitive questions of visitors as to why is there some flora growing in what should be a well kept, cultured indoors of a Turanian/Khitan/semi-Stygian (Stonebrick, because we’re still waiting for those Stygian architecture pack…) household…

Were was I? Ah, right - grass. I’m happy that the foundations will finally surpress those pesky green/yellow dry buggers from phasing through solid structures (“Capt’, we’re barbarians, not some fancy Starfleet officers!”).

I’d just like to ask - will the flora-blocking property on those items extend over to the pavement pieces, which are de facto labeled as decorations? I mean - logically speaking, one could assume that they should - being made of cultivated earth & stone, and intended to create some “civilized-looking” roads within out bases/villages/towns/cities…?

Pretty please? I’m sure once it’s tested in the foundation pieces, adding them into those specific deco pieces (all 2 of them - at least for now) shouldn’t - hopefully - take too much dev time…? :stuck_out_tongue:

Interesting question. The default behavior of such a feature really depends what the various pieces are categorized as, internally, doesn’t it.

(double posted, because I can’t into teh forumz today, apparently… sigh )

If you mean class inheritance, then yes - though (not really a profesional SD, so sorry if this assumption is incorrect) I’d think that you can implement the properties of one item into another - or have the “grass surpression” be its own “object”, that all items that would require it could be linked to, for use as a…property, maybe?

Oh you could certainly do all of those things, I’m just talking about wildly guessing at what the “default” behavior would be, but it really all depends on how the implementation is done in the first place!
