I would like to propose that Sorcery has access to More ritual magic, the new rituals would be dived into rituals that you can do at your base and rituals that you can do in the open world.
The rituals you can do at your base would allow you to change/swap the effects of the corrupted perks your using, also you can do rituals that give you a buff before you get into pvp / or open world dungeons, or out in the open world gathering etc…
The open world rituals you do outside your base would be something you place on the ground similar only in function in how you place a trebuchet on the ground, the effects of these open world rituals would be things like Star calling, earthquake etc on an enemy base.
I feel with more pvp focused rituals you do in your base and in the outside world before you get into pvp would make the sorcery feature much more fun. I feel what is lacking is not being able to prepare ritual beforehand and rituals in the open world with meaningful damage on a target base.
I had suggested using sorcery to build a sort of crystal ball. When you access it, you would get a view of the map and you click on where you want to see. This then creates an invisible sensor that lets you spy on the area from the safety of your theumaturgic lair…
The magic stuff should be removed completely. It destroyed PvP with the flying bats and ice bridges, there’s no point in building a proper fortress since it doesn’t really matter how many climb proof fences you have when they can be just flown over.
After the snap-on explosives and harrypottering PvP has become pointless to play. Defending as a duo against bigger clans is completely pointless when you can’t even build a base so it’s hard to raid.
So the issue you have here in my opinion is on the other side of the coin and a separate topic but I will indulge you, it’s the fact that the religion system/feature is not robust or in depth enough to provide players the defense/protection they would expect from dedicating time towards it. The new Jebhal sag area gives a glimpse of what I would expect an altar to operate with meaningful weapons armour and a creature to defend base with.
