The rivers are teeming with fish traps that used to belong to players who have long since gone away. My old neighbours quit in April; their fish traps are still here. Another neighbour quit in May; his fish traps persist.
Please provide a step-by-step process of how the bug can be reproduced. The more details you provide us with the easier it will be for us to find and fix the bug:

I have found that fish traps don’t have their own decay timer, but inherit the timer of whichever building is closest to them. Fish traps that have no undecayed buildings near them, will decay normally. But if you build something next to fish traps of people who have quit the game, their traps will remain in the game for as long as your building exists.
