Bug Description:

Decor items will not place in some specific locations within building structures. I literally have to find a “Sweet spot” upon the surface of the wall or floor to place the item/decor piece. We have had more issues placing decor items on ceiling pieces than foundation pieces. This has mostly been with DLC building items that we have noticed.

Bug Reproduction:

  1. Build yourself a structure with ceiling pieces as flooring (or walls). 2) Craft or spawn some decor items you wish to use. 3) Attempt to place desired items in various locations throughout the structure. Some will refuse to be placed and the green outline ‘blips’ for a moment as if it was going to but then does not. Keep trying until you can find a spot where the item WILL place.

Thank you for reporting your situation regarding decor placement issues.

Situations like this may be due to mods that are being used in the server.
In order for us to test this out, I would suggest for you to delete the following file:
Conan Exiles\ConanSandbox\Mods\modlist.txt and manually unsubscribe from all your Conan modes. This will guarantee that mods are not loaded.

Please let us know if the issue persists after performing the suggested steps StarMistress.

Hello Saint,

When 3.0 dropped we actually were -forced- to remove all our mods as we were unable to tell which mods were breaking our Server at the time (It kept resetting), but we used the method described above. We actually found that the decor placement issue occurred on the server without mods. I have noticed it also happens with -some- walls occasionally as well.

Hi Saint,

I’ll see if I can try to do this. We actually figured out it was a stability issue. We added in some supports from Pythagoras as well as columns in places and it seemed to fix the issue. As we continue to re-build I will try to see about re-duplicating the issue to record it for you.

Hello again,

I have 2 short clips duplicating the issue but I can’t seem to upload the files. I have reached, I think, the trust level I should be able to upload & share them to the community, but I do not know if the file format is now the issue. They are mp4 files.

Hi Saint, I would very much like to upload the two short clips I have but it seems the forums do not support mp4 file format. I don’t have a clue if of the available file types if they can be converted into one of them or not. This is the error message I am getting when I have tried.

Okay, I finally managed to get all the files uploaded to Youtube.

The second one is just a touch longer because I ran into a technical issue with my controls. The first two, will show the issue and correction with the Pythagoras mod. The third is after you all did a patch update. Seems to have fixed the instability which is wonderful.
