Age of Heroes Public Beta: Moved Again

I hope these BETA Delays result in OFFICIAL Delays.

Do the right thing Funcom!

Any EL PvE will suffice also right now. So many Sandstone boxes littered around Noob River benefiting from the 480 hour Decay and Headhunter.

Can’t wait until it drops down to 240 hours and they all go away.

Indeed. The patchwork shitshow that we have been given the past few years has finally caught up to them and the Test Live won’t even work.

Makes perfect sense to me!

and I cannot say I care about Age of Heroes anyway. I don’t want it. I want the game I enjoyed, the game I bought and supported, to be returned to me unscathed. Sadly there’s a 99.9% chance we’re getting more of the same trash content and buggy changes with Age of Heroes that we got with War and Sorcery.

Ofc you are right - though it might seem I would want everything perfect immediatelly, it’s just the hyped “can’t wait!” kid inside me crying a bit now. :exploding_head:

I guess we better appreciate the small steps in the right direction and wait for them to settle down as matter of fact in the future. And then we can come with other suggestions to make the communication better.

I also know it’s mostly my problem I took it as granted it will be released today, not taking into account possibility of some additional complications. Gonna try to not look forward to September 5th this time.

This is kind of shocking. For years Funcom has been happy to push whatever absolute trash they cooked up onto players without remorse. Is Funcom developing self-awareness? Are they actually learning to be embarrassed about the abhorrent quality of their own code? If so this is truly a new age!

Completely understandable.

Funcom has disappointed us so consistently for so long, we just want a break.

The same people that say this, also say:

“Why don’t you tell us when something is coming.”

When they don’t give specific dates.

But this is exactly the sort of damned if you do, damned if you don’t mentality this community of players is notorious for. Even if the beta had all the features working as intended, fixed the fall through bug, and some other major issues, everyone would still nitpick the crap out of it and find something to complain about.

But this is gaming culture 101, this is hardly the only game players are doing this too.

In the past, when an upcoming patch was going to test, it was going to go as is to live more or less hell or high water (with an occasional change here or there). And if they got delayed, the release date of the patch to live wouldn’t change. The fact that all is changing here is a pretty good sign.

really good change, i cant recall more than 2 times were funcom delayed something, it does spell improvements.

being said that, my advice is just push it for a month, and if its ready earlier just push it when its ready, that avoid this being pushed over and over , (just my 2 cents)

Agreed.

I’d like to think that it’s mostly not the same people, but rather two parts of the playerbase that don’t necessarily overlap too much.

But I recognize that might be my own idealism and naivete

At any rate, I would personally rather have them move deadlines and communicate clearly about it if that improves the quality of the outcomes. I really do hope the latter will follow from the former.
