Age of Heroes Public Beta: Moved to Aug 29

Hey there Exiles,

In our most recent devstream and around media, we mentioned the Age of Heroes Public Beta was aimed at Thursday, August 22nd. We hit a last-minute snag during development this week, and, as a result, we need to move the target Public Beta date to August 29th, a week from tomorrow. We still also plan to have an updated Mod Devkit available at that date as well.

We’ll keep you posted on any further news. Thank you for your attention, Exiles!

they are probably going to make some changes… they probably know there are… issues.

otherwise they could have launched and start running fixes, well if testlive is supposed to be working as… it should.

@Hiveshadow, We’ve been trying to get Funcom NOT to release things prematurely. I realize that this one time, does not make a pattern of changed behavior, but it’s a step in the right direction, even if it is just a Beta release. Thank you Funcom and AndyB for your communication. :+1:

i just want to hear if their was a reason to the moved date

they already gave you one big reason for the delay,

to sumarize it : its not ready. or they might add or make a change to improve it, what else would you like to know?

feel free to delay as much as you need.
please take the feedback we are doing on what we have seen so far, and i hope it is taken into consideration.

Best regards!

In another medium they shared a video of a thrall working the spit roast and noted it needed more time to cook.

This one cannot say for certain, but left to idle speculation, they perhaps discovered a nasty bug internally, and rather than shove it out to the test server anyway, in keeping with the new slower more refined release approach, are not letting the mistake leave the kitchen.

Last minute delays are always disappointing, but this one will extend grace that it may be for the reasons they changed the release schedule cadence in the first place.

Also, updated DevKit.
While this one has no access to mods, this one still is happy of that.

Is the “whole server falls through floor” barkeep bug fixed in this one?

I, too, am glad they chose delay over releasing known bad code and hoping we would not notice.

Certainly, I would have preferred more notice, but, let’s not punish for increased communication and caution.

Take a week, take a month, take the time to release a stable product.

You all should fix some bugs.

There are a lot.

That’s cool, take as long as you all need.

Also, any chance we can get a checklist of bug fixes you all are working on along with this new age?

ill join when i see that my time and reports means something , last 3 or 4 times, people wasted their time in there, as no bugs were resolved, and they pushed a different build than the one being tested.

when i see them fixing bugs in testlive, ill glady join and help.

Good. Less bugs = more profit.

Yeah…Andy literally said it already.

Did you not read that? He quite literally told you the reason. They hit a snag and need to sort it out before they can release it to the testlive servers. What more do you want from them? An itemized list of every single line of code?

@AndyB Thank you very much for communicating this delay and for being responsible enough to hold the launch of the testlive server another week to correct whatever the issue is you all have run into. I for one greatly appreciate this, both the effort put into making sure the testlive launch is in a better state as well as the communication to the community here on the Official Forums. I also am very happy to see this here:

As well as this:

This is a step in the right direction!
