Game mode: Singleplayer

Was playing single player just to test base builds, etc. but today when I logged in I noticed that there were no trees near my base. I started walking further and further and still nothing! I built a base in the frozen north but even all the way down by newb river there was no trees, rocks, animals, npcs… I tried quitting the game and going back but still nothing. Right now it looks like the only thing in the game is my player built base and some of the game features like npc canopies and the aqueduct. I really don’t want to have to completely restart my single player game as I spent a lot of time on the build there. Anything I can do?
Steps on how to reproduce issue:
- not sure… build a base and wait for the entire world to despawn?
