Please add another camera angle alternative, I am sick of the top dosn view at a angle and I would like to be able to look forward and attack things as if my eyes didn’t reside in the sky.
Please and thank you
EDIT: To clarify I am specifically referring to the lock on camera angle. @Xevyr thank you for making me realize my mistake between the two.
I understand… the default top-down view is plain 3rd person perspective. You want to change that so it has a static viewport, like first person perspective. It appears that you’re in luck. I use both sticks to control camera view. I imagine you could do the same if you understand the code to poke at it based on a sample or two.
The real question is if it breaks immersion? That last argument over steering lasted awhile. There is the tried and true cybernetic response (cyber=steer). Something in between this and that just needs some love.
First person doesn’t pertain to combat the moment a weapon is drawn I have to view combat a specific way thats just rather uncomfortable at this point. I didn’t at first but now I just hate it and want a a second choice.
I am not asking for first person combat but wouldn’t be against it, but rather a lower to the ground look that you see in nearly every game including, fps, mmo, rpg, top down is usually for games that need a wide vision of the area, its wide sure but I am going to up field of vision tonight but yeah.
Do you have your FOV at max? Lowering it to standard or below will bring it pretty close to in line of your shoulder and much less that feeling of top down angle.
Although I don’t recommend it for PVP because it is hard to see around you.
With that I can also see issues seeing everything possible with a different camera view. Top down at an angle provides you with the most advantageous area to view everything within that scope.
I was going to increase it, as I never touched it but I can easily revert it for 6pm warfare. I’ll give this a shot this actually maybe a easier solution to the problem.
As in… you do realize that your camera is not normally locked and you can even look at the sky if you wanted while attacking, right?
So based on your description I’m getting the impression that you’re using target lock and that’s what you don’t like… the angle of the camera target lock uses… which is a different beast altogether.
I do think that we should be able to move the camera while target locked. Character can stay locked on, but we should be able to move our mouse and look at around.
I played skyrim I prefer this game in third person as a lot of the hame is visually seeing your awesome weapons and gear and rock climbing etc. Not to say its not good in first but outside of gathering until I fan cast sorcery for that it won be used much, also to note one last thing about skyrim, I played that and it’s the reason I personally prefer first person but it isn’t needed for some games, helldivers 2 for such both vision choices third/first are equally well done I pick whatever I feel is fun at the time but honestly I constantly change between them, aiming first person, scouting/looking around third person sometimes I swap it.
Huh never knew I would he discussing my enjoyments of third and first person in a game ever.
Console, but I’ll hook a keyboard up and see whats up , true to target lock the fact it forces the angle and sometimes its needed and sometimes its not depending on the size sometimes, also the amount of enemies as it changes my direction the moment I attack as its set to face the ‘targeted enemy’ when I attack, it was in settings and that gives me a easier time dealing with so framerate loss or disadvantage to higher end pc players. Not always going to win or go well visually.
Ah, yea even in that case you can adjust freely with the right stick unless you’re target-locked
But I see you realized that in the meantime and updated the OP
This makes a lot more sense! Target lock is, for lack better words, eww.
I trained in PVP without it so even with the switch on PC for meta use I could never get used to it. It’s so clunky and annoying but maybe that’s intended so it’s not a crutch?
