Am I The Only One Who Doesn't Like the Changes to Stack Splitting?

They can queue up changes, prioritize, and flag possible problems. Even if the changes aren’t implemented before the patch goes live, they might be implemented sooner than if there had been no beta.

I don’t know how it is in game development, but working in IT for business software, we do PI planning quarterly and if an issue arises, be it code or functionality, the functionality is not released from dev to test or even live and a spillover planning item is created.
The way FC releases patches (have a look at what broke each of the patches) is just sloppy, sorry

Definitely not alone! It’s real “fun” splitting multiple stacks trying to get the exact quantity that you need. Especially if you already have limited space in the cupboard that you’re trying to split it in.

I’ve always drugNdroped to split a stack. Rarely did I use the custom split stack. So the split stack is same for me, but I’ve lost the right click to use option, that I’m upset about. I like that is restacks the split, but it’s not worth losing the right click to use option.

It does, but it has to be a massive out cry. A few people griping about it from testlive doesn’t count.

Tell me do all items vanish the second you place them in a horses pack?
It all depends on how serious the motivation is to fix the issue.

So it’s consoles fault we on PC get buggy updates that could have cooked a couple weeks longer?

No they generally force it on us any way, which is an issue.

If testlive was used to the best of it’s potential this could be sorted before going live and costing Conan more players.

Which is how old bugs keep getting reintroed. Hell right now testlive doesn’t have this build, so at this point testlive is moot.

So you’re an optimist. And it will more then likely never be reverted. Going back through I can count the time funcom has rolled something back on my fingers and not drop my cigarette.

Malicious? No. Ambivalent? Maybe. Oblivious? More then likely.

Ya miss me

:100:

Or more then likely not at all.

My mistake, didn’t know that. Will correct my post.

No worries.
Almost everyone is upset about this.
It is an enshittification of obnoxious proportions and lashing out in anger is to be expected.

This one has avoided posting thus far specifically because the bubbling vitriol would erode the ability to clearly articulate exactly what an odious affront the UI change is to quality of game play.

Your anger is justified. But we are all siblings in suffering in this regard.

I am sorry, but the entire purpose of having a Testlive…sorry…Public Beta (why they changed the name…who knows), is to tests updates before they go live.

So then we have to ask, what is the purpose of testing updates before they go live? One obvious reason is to find any bugs which may have fallen through the cracks. It is far easier to identify certain issues when you have large groups of people, on a multitude of builds (since this is being done on PC), test the new update out then to have a very small controlled group doing so as they are likely going to try things which had not been though of trying, do unexpected things, or a myriad of other factors that could come into play. The point is, they are going to find things out that the people who are working on the game are not going to think about doing.

But then there is also the feedback they provide that is not related to issues involving bugs themselves. How do they, the players, actually LIKE the updates? What the people who are making the game think matter, to a point, but if the people who are playing the game, and hopefully paying for things in the shop, do not actually like the new features of the update than it really does not matter if the developers like it. So this feedback is crucial, it lets them know what IS and IS NOT working and more importantly WHY.

And then you come down to the crux of the problem. What do you do with all of this feedback? Do you attempt to fix as many of these bugs and push out a new version of the update with as many of the bugs fixed for the players to test yet again before release? Do you push back the release of the update to address not only the bugs but the other issues as well? This last part Funcom has backed themselves into a corner with the Age/Chapter cycle, or rather, Tencent has backed Funcom into a corner, though truth be told they rarely ever if ever pushed back an update in the past anyway. So this becomes the biggest issue and complaint, what ARE they doing with this feedback and WHY are they bothering with these public beta releases in the first place?

This is an honest question. I have personally reported on an issue back in AoS Chapter 1 that I still see happening to this day. Clearly that issue was never fixed. It was not fixed before going live and now 5 chapters later it still has not been fixed. So what ARE they doing with this information?

Agreed. The way to select the exact number of items was very useful. Now I have to keep splitting and splitting to just get one item lol.

Sigh

ALL of us hate it. They took a direct crap on everything.

No one asked for this. There is NO justifiable reason for this abysmal excuse for a UI rework. It’s amateur level code and design.

Funcom is not listening and the only way to show how we feel is with our $$ not going to their pockets anymore.

My advice, find a new game. This is an abusive relationship with devs who don’t give a rip about feedback.

Way ahead of you lol. I wasn’t very impressed with the content in this update to begin with, and with this debacle on top of it I’m not even going to bother playing.

I feel you. The broken thrall pots & pet feeder boxes have been reported time and again since Age of Sorcery Ch2, and they are still not working. Invisible assets is another, they remedied some parts, but others such as invisible golden lotus nodes persist. They ‘fixed’ Storage Conrainer: Skinning but it still will not accept Fur; the very thing reported in the bug reports. And now this foolish change in stack sorting options. EVERYONE HATES IT!

I’m exhausted. I honestly don’t know how much longer I have left in me with regards to this game.

I‘m honestly NOT sorry for posting this again fellow exiles.

… it simply fits.
Now that I think of it, it would fit into a lot of these threads… SADLY it sums up the state of CE perfectly.

This is stupid, Funcom. Why the hell would you REMOVE FEATURES to make inventory management more difficult?!

Well said.

I’ve been a long time defender of the dev and the game, but this is an absolute straw vs camel’s back update.

They ignore problems and then shove this inventory mess down our throats with a big spoonful of “we are listening to the community” to make us feel like the medicine is good for us.

It’s not good for us. It’s toxic and going to kill what goodwill was left towards this game.

I’m bummed and disappointed. My heart wants me to be a barbarian in the exiled lands, but my head knows it’s time to pack up the caravan.

Lets get another “hang out with the Devs” stream where they go on and on inexpertly with their own game for 2 and a half hours while they refuse to read/accept feedback and questions. D:

I beg to differ, it’s for content producers to show off the new build.

If testlive was properly utilized it would be a build or 2 ahead of live, it is now a build behind. At this point “testlive” is moot, in a week or so it will be offlined or so in need of a restart it’s unplayable.

No the people funding the game now will buy everything in the bazaar every time a new page comes up.

Good luck with that, I’m still looking.

Why would you turn the simple act of dying armor in to some Rube Goldberg operation?

They can make it a drinking game, every time some one in chat asks a pertinent question they take a drink and ignore it

Because, paraphrasing our great Director Dennis, “no one does that, we just split stacks”.

What a great show of being in sync with the community.
