Problem: Elevators disappearing the moment they are set

I was building a base on top of one of the larger ruin towers at lakewatch the other day when i came across a weird glitch. I was trying to place an elevator on the south side and 3 times I lost my elevator to thin air. I would craft it, attach it, and BAM! It disintegrated. I tried to step out onto the air thinking it might just be invisible and almost plummeted to my doom. No sound effect, nothing. I Lost all materials i used for crafting it (no big deal, easy to craft.) Nothing. I eventually moved my elevator to a spot to the west side of the tower and it worked normally. I tried to put one on the south side again and !POOF! gone. Maybe someone has the time to look into that. Or do elevators have a height limit I am not aware of yet? Cheers!
