Any Plans for Quivers?

I just got here and I bet this has been brought up. After a search I saw the threads got into more of an inventory space than aesthetics. Has there been any discussion on not having the characters grabbing arrows out of thin air?

Oh some had brought this issue up.
Like someone who suggested the character should carry his weapons around even outside of combat. Magically vanishing weaponry wasnt exactly what that player liked.
However, the sandbox stands in the way of that, because then all 8 items on the hotbar would be needed to be shown… Well…

As for quivers in terms of grabbing arrows from thin air, they might act like visual only and be part of the bow without really changing mechanics or else. So if the art team could do this, it would be nice!

On the other hands - if quivers were supposed to be actual items on the hotbar… eh… I really dont know.

I wonder if a purely cosmetic quiver could be tied to the arrows rather than the bow, so it only shows if it’s “loaded.”

Or, if it’s tied to the bow, then the quiver could also be in the cultural style of whichever one it is. For example the quiver attached to, say, the Bossonian bow would be mounted on the back, while the ones for the Khitan and Hyrkanian bows would hang from the waist.

Considering they are stacked already there just isn’t an asthetic for it? When arrows are detected in your inventory just apply a change to character model. Even if they aren’t used it shows where they are carried and not just pulled from a pocket dimension.

Cosmetic wouldn’t be bad. I kinda wished we had equip slots for weapons, to open up slots on hot bar.
2 weapon slots, Player equips 2 hand swords, or bow and duals, or sword and 2hand.
And default it to 1 hot bar, that switches the two.

On Ps4 anyway, we could lose right on d-pad for map (hold touch pad instead for map) for weapon swap.
Or Up on dpad (journal) for something else.
(personally sick of hitting right on dpad to go to dead npc inventory, and having damn map open instead…)

Ooh or I had another idea. Say there was an equip slot for a quiver, and we put our arrows there instead of in the bow. The bow then draws from the quiver, which players would need to reload when empty.

There could even be different tiers of quivers unlocked along with their corresponding bows, each capable of holding progressively larger amounts of arrows. Like the super-basic beginner’s quiver made out of like woven grass or whatever can only hold ten, while the fancy-pantsy star metal quiver can hold like fifty or whatever.

Pros: would look freakin’ sweet.

Cons: I imagine the amount of work it would involve to implement would probably put it pretty far down on the list of priorities to actually do, also given how shooting works in this game it’d be very easy to empty half your quiver just missing shot after shot.

No

How about a second hotbar(PC)/radial (consoles)

Can we get a second radial like RDR2 has where you press right bumper to go to the next 8 radial slots. I mean come on its a pain to constantly swap out the items in the radial on Console.

:+1::+1::+1: I agree ten fold with the quivers, them holding all your arrows and showing when it’s getting empty. I also agree with showing weapons you have equipt even if not using them somehow. A single button to pull out you sword and shield if you are jumped so your not dead before you radial the 2 out on x1.

And I love opening the map all the time to loot on console!!!

I wish they append function of toggle mode.

For example in PS4 when push certain button, change ring menu shortcut to 2nd mode.
And one more push certain button, return to 1st mode.

Each ring menu mode is able to register their shortcuts.
So we have 16 total shortcuts.

It’ll be able to use 1st menu for battle/food, 2nd menu for construction/etc.

I think alot of buttons can be reworked, Journal doesnt really need to be on left dpad?

I’m not super familer with xbox newer controllers, Not sure they have a touch pad with two outcomes. (4 if you count holding)
Which is were i wish more games used.

If we could trash one button, I would yank left dpad, for a 2nd radial. (journal can be see in options, its not a button i use to often for it)

I would love a fuller rework, I’d settle for minor one.
