Anyone know what's causing these huge framerate drops on my base?

No torches at all. And besides time of day is effecting it. When the sun went down there was a brief period in my base even with all of the stuff everywhere, where the fps was like 60 constant. and then 30 seconds later dropped down to 30 fps.

There’s some item or something in the game’s code or engine or something that’s legit causing this memory lag or fps issue. I just can’t pin point what exactly.

Have you tried consolidating the storage containers? How many storage containers do you have right now?

Same thing happened during the same time of day. Base fps shot up to 60fps. And then 30 seconds later it’s lagsville at 30fps.

You basically gave away the reason for your poor performance without even realizing it.
Consider conditions related to “internet traffic” load and time of day.
Couple that with all that crap you got laying around you and server response coincidental to internet traffic and time of day.
You might want to reconsider what time you want to play online or start building more modestly.

No. You’re wrong lmao. I outlined already there’s some kind of time of day lag happening. During sunset on the game the fps will jump to 60fps for 30 seconds. The game is probably rendering too much out of field of view. And shadows are lagging up. I have a very respectable computer spec wise and all my other games runs fine.

Conan exiles chooses to be unoptimized and refuses to use my hardware correctly. When im getting 30fps in my base and my gpu/cpu utulilzation are like less than 40% then you know the game isn’t using the power of my hardware to actually improve fps.

You should go take some courses in computer architecture buddy.
Hardware doesn’t mean crap when you’re dealing in internet issues.
But you are partly right in one aspect, but you don’t know the source of the cause.
So I’ll enlighten you.
The game was built using a database manager that was meant for mobile apps.
You can blame “optimization” problems on that.
So on that note, why don’t you go do some investigating and find out what those “other games” are using.

Except that, based on the data you yourself provided, neither the CPU nor the GPU is busy enough for that to cause lag. Like I said, if it’s not CPU, nor GPU, then it’s most likely I/O. But hey, what do I know? I’ve just been programming for 20+ years, I’ll bow to your expertise

And don’t worry, I’ll stop trying to help by asking you the question you don’t want to answer

SQLite was meant for much more than just mobile apps. In fact, it was pretty much meant for applications where there’s only one concurrent writer. But who knows, maybe the needs of Conan Exiles game database really did outgrow SQLite. :man_shrugging:

I’m having the same problem. Not just at my but also in the proximity of other bases. But for me it’s not so much frame loss, my video actually freezes up for a few seconds(but my chat keeps moving forward). Haven’t been able to isolate a cause for it. They’re not even big bases, no land claim spam, not a lot of exterior buildings and placeables just average size pvp bases. The only common factor is the DLC , it only happens with the brick based bases, it doesn’t happen at the black ice bases. Also, I notice vaults will not render until I am right up on them or passed them.

Well if anyone has to proclaim they’re an expert in something, chances are they aren’t.

And besides. Here’s a video proof of it all inside of my base, (Notice the FPS Counter top right) And the game is capable of being 60fps in my base with all the thralls and decorations when it chooses to. And it does this once a in-game day/night cycle. There’s a small window of timeframe when the game will be at 60fps. And then it dips in half for whatever until the next day in the game.

Again, nobody needs to proclaim to be an expert and to see a pattern in the engine here, There’s something bugging or glitching out with the post processing or shaders or something or memory.

I have 4080 and 7700x, 32 GB of RAM 6000MHz 30Cl, even my frequency at the base falls, outside its counter it beats into the ceiling of 165 hz of the monitor.

Same thing here, standing outside my castle. base loaded in 60fps. And this is during Sunset/Sunrise period.

Soon as sun goes down 30fps boom! on time as always. There go it’s a engine bug with something causing the fps issues across the game.

Edit: Now i’ve shown proof, all of the negative folk saying it’s my PC or it’s my base being too big have gone quiet. What a surprise.

You shot down the people who were trying to help. Don’t forget that you are the one asking for their help …

No people were trying to put fault on my pc or my base. When i was telling them otherwise that they were wrong and i proved them so.

If you have all the answers, then unlag your base. If you can’t do that, then you’ve proven nothing except that you will bite the hands that feed you.

At the end of the day I’d imagine most who tried to help are playing the game just fine without any lag in their bases. If you want to sit in a base giving a degraded performance while they don’t and consider it a win, then by all means celebrate your victory in subpar framerates.

Your base is miniscule compared to admin dungeons I’ve created in the past and they did not cause framerate issues. But congrats on your ~30FPS

Drama am I right?

Yeesh.
