Not as much as you think if you incorporated it correctly.
Nope.
This game is good enough even if the combat needs a complete overhaul along with an engine tune up.
Plus i have too much money and time sunk into this game to just give it up for another dime a dozen indi-games that come and go.
If it comes to console i may give it look, but if it’s pc only then it’s a definite no from here on out.
I do play some things on pc, so i am not a console master race sorta person, but i do like certain types of games on console rather than pc.
Okay, CE love aside… I absolutely detest the combat animations displayed and the idea of traipsing around in a “vizard” mask… no way. I’m not a “mah immerzion” kinda guy, but Soulmask looks horribly cheesy to me.
10% off intro sale. $27.
From what I understand the battle system is pure crap, and no nudity.
Think I might wait for the 30% off sale.
Gave it a try, refunded after 40 mins…
This is years away from a full release.
Yeah its early access, I was on early access Conan, janky, buggy, couldn’t even connect to co op, but learned to love it I guess.
I have no doubt that Soul Mask will be pretty awesome someday. And I’m sure I’ll end up laying it since a few of my friends are interested in it. But so far, I like Conan Exiles much better.
No, because console. Might dabble a bit watching it though.
Bought it this morning. 27$ steam (30 with 10% early bird special).
Gonna give it a run. Demo early game was tedious, until i remebered its not CE so reset my experience curve to new game state.
Devs did listen to an early pvp debate, window of damage. They had a poll and now have 3 server types. So like the “listening to feed back” so far.
post deleted - please don’t report.
I know ignorance about rules is no excuse… still no bad intent, just ignorance.
So in one sentence - aside from promoting JAZZ music, I don’t advertise here anything.
Hey, I have been playing since this morning and had a blast, some things need more polishing, combat could be more responsive but when I tried Conan in early access it was way buggy/laggy than Soulmask at the moment.
Hope you have fun!
You know what is worse than the people who complain about the prices on the CE Bazaar ? the people who make free advertising for other games.
I have played the Demo, and I have played previous games which have such delusional following (looking at you BG3). You know what BG3, Phantom Liberty (Cyberpunk), Forbidden West (Horizon Zero), and most of the recent hyped games did ? Make me appreciate Conan Exiles even more.
If soulmask was in kickstarter, I would put a bet if such existed that it would be in Slope’s channel in less than a year.
Hmmmm, so npw general discussion has to be only about Conan? This a fellow CE players discussing woth other CE players about a ppssible common interest.
If I was to advertise as you say, then i would go to Players helping Players and sell my opinion on how Soulmask fixes CE issues and help the CE official pvpers find a non hacker toxic infested gaming experience [sic].
So the post reminded me of something I could do about soulmask. Check how much it costs on Steam and buy its value in Crom Coins.
I guess that is the closes of “playing with Soulmask” I will be.
While people sometimes confuses it with stereotyping, business is often straight forward with things. The whole presentation of Soulmask was always “wrong”. Both in the sense that “what your game aims ?” and on the “can these guys achieve it ?”.
The very own video on Steam, which should point out the strong parts of the game, already show the very weaknesses the game has. It shows the problems with animations, tracing (not ray tracing players love to talk about, tracing as in the handle of what characters can see, hear or touch).
An old guy who was one of the “westerner pioneer of business” once said: “The biggest waste is to do with efficacy and efficiency what is not needed”. Soulmask would be a nice example of that.
While the things most unimportant in the game are made so well, the important ones are subpar.
Well, there it is. @KorgFoehammer has spoken. Pack up all the off-topic threads, including the following popular threads:
- New Game! I got banned for… – more than a year old, with 229 posts
- Share the music you like – more than a year old, with 455 posts
- I literally joined the forums with the main purpose of sharing this abomination – 2.5 years old, with 1237 posts
They better be closed by tomorrow. No idle socializing allowed!
On a more serious note, there are two things our beloved Business White Knight should consider here. One is this little tag here:
It’s a tag threads like this one use to signal that they’re not necessarily the kind of Conan Exiles discussion you would expect to normally find on these forums.
But there’s an even more important consideration:
Take a look at this thread and the conclusions posted by the majority of those who actually tried Soulmask. Most of them boil down to some variant of “meh, I tried it, but it’s not as good as Conan Exiles.”
Talk about free advertising, eh? If that isn’t a solid endorsement of Conan Exiles, despite all its bugs and glitches and problems, then what is?
No one is free advertising here, we are allowed to discuss and talk about any topic as long as it doesn’t break the rules. You know why I made this thread? to know what other people who enjoy and love Conan Exiles think about other games, because sadly atm I have no interest in playing this game anymore, every new season puts me off more and more.
Uh, did you play the demo? Because if you have then you would have noticed several key things.
- They may have “read the Conan forums”, and attempted to “implement” the “awesome” things Conan could have been, but they failed hard to even come close to what Conan Exiles was in Early Access.
- The building system is a cluster fvck to the Nth degree!
- The combat system, if one would actually call it such, is… a good decade behind that of Conan Exiles. Seriously, it’s bloody awful.
- The character creation system is… worse than that found in games from the 2000’s. Seriously. The entirety of the character creation in that demo does not even equal 1/10th of the character creation of Age of Conan which launched back in 2008.
So if these are the “awesome things Conan could’ve become”, well I’m glad it didn’t.
So to answer you question. No. I most assuredly will not be playing Soulmask this weekend. I likely won’t be playing Conan Exiles this weekend either. But Soulmask has lightyears of improvements to make before they could even come close to being the game you are claiming them to be, or many others for that matter.
The only ■■■■■■ advertising on this forums are your prehistoric mods no one cares about.
It has a delusional following because it’s a good game.
Isso é FLOP
