Played this game a while back and thinking of getting back in, however wanted to know if the long load times after death were still a thing?.. The ones where youve got the loading screen but you’re actually back on the server taking damage and then die again before it’s fully loaded.

I can’t comment on Xbox specifically but this has been fixed on PlayStation - at least ps5 for a while now.
This is mainly a HDD vs SSD issue I think, but still does happen in certain scenarios. For me the most dangerous thing even with an external SSD on ps4 pro was exiting the well of skelos. You’d die because the game would take ages to load but you’d be loaded next to enemies. With an SSD it greatly reduced this time (and rubber banding in general online). Loading after death I have no issue with, but still wouldn’t risk the well of skelos unless you have a friend or strong thralls left outside to deal with the mobs.

Keep a small cherry bug. Since the last update the game has many issues and the hotfix is announced for 15 of January. If you create a new character now, which will be awesome, you’ll notice that even a Kudo or a crocodile fight is difficult. Keep your spirit high and see it as challenge even if the fighting AI of all the mobs looks weird.
